Default Ford Badge replacement

Curious if anyone has some input on this.

I'm considering blacking the front grill of my focus to match the paint, and then maybe while the grill is off, switching the Ford Badge to silver/white Lettering, with black behind it, instead of the traditional blue and white badge.

I've seen lots of ads for peel and stick decal type stuff, but I feel like it will
A) look rediculous, or B) peel off, and look crappy over time and car washes.

anybody done this?

Can you buy legit badges like the factory made ones, but different colors? if so where?

thanks

There is a way to remove the badge and sand off the background color, but sorry I've never done it personally and it seems like it could be quite an intensive job.

Getting a vinyl overlay for the badge really is a good way to go. I've had an overlay on my badges for near to 2 years now without any pealing or fading.

www.webxtremes.com is a great site with lots of custom options available.

I went the decal route. Black oval with grey lettering. It's been on the front and back ovals for over a yeer with no problems. Most durable vynil should last a while, plus isn't such a hassle to apply or take off.

At the risk of thread jacking , what's everyone got for their overlays?

I'd like to design something because I'm not super happy with the options I've seen, but maybe once I've seen some on a fofo it might change my mind.

This is mine i just blacked out. I had this sticker and one more made. This took me maybe 45 mins. to do. Make sure you do some good prep work before you paint. It should turn out very nice. Good luck.
