Default 2003 focus heated seats

I purchased a 2003 zx5 - new.
in sept. of 2004 i recieved a notice from Ford regarding un-even heating with the seats
in may 2005 it was 'repaired' by my local dealer
in feb 2008 my driver side seat caught fire - with me in it!

anyone else have any issues regarding heated seats on 2003 focus models?

I don't think the thread is in the right place. Try post about it in TEAM Pit Stop forum.

You know i would like to add to this. It seems that 2003 was a bad year for heaated seats as most with them in svts have issues with them stopping to work. Theres my rant!

I have a 2002, the drivers heated seat completely doesn't work, and the passenger side lower heat pad doesn't work, but the upper back element works.

Wonder if they'd fix it for me even though the TSB only applies to 03-04 models?

I have an '03 SVT and I don't use the driver side heat because I'm lucky if it ever shuts off. Must be a problem with the switch.
