as far as I understand it, between a golf and a GTI, only GTIs are made in Germany, the rest are made in Mexico and other places around the world.

to be so ignorant as to proclaim that the Focus isn't euro deep down is silly. lets be honest here, Mk4 VWs had torsion bar suspensions and then VW adopted(read: copied) Ford of Europe designed multi-link rear suspensions from the FOCUS onto the mk5.

so whose more Euro now?

Maybe. I know i dont have the brand enthusiasm that some do, but it is frustrating to say the least when people dont understand that Ford has been in Europe longer then VW has been in existence. Despite having its "roots" in the United States, Ford has established itself as an international brand/icon. Its not like we are trying to register a Taurus into the show, the Focus was developed for the european market and only once its popularity exploded was its introduction to the US made.

Its a futile argument i know, but i think it still deserves a voice.

Same weekend as Monterey Historics and Concours d'Elegance. I was going to check it out b/c some of my Europrojektz teammates were competing in the show but decided to go up to Monterey instead.

So I guess Volvos are not allowed to be at the show since Volvo is owned by Ford?

I tell you, us Focus owners get **** on by all groups.

We're drive compact four cylinder cars, but the 4 cyl japanese imports **** on us.
We drive cars made by Ford, but since they are not v8 muscle cars, the Mustang guys **** on us.
Our cars were designed in Europe, and Ford has a HUGE compact scene in Europe, but the Euro guys **** on us.........

Ok who was that, that I saw on Saturday cruising through Solvang? It looked like a black 05+ maybe an ST without the SAP. I was in the red ZX3 with my friends black evo behind me.

Bummer! We must have missed each other. Did you take your Focus to the BBQ? We fueled up on some burgers and NOS then I took my girlfriend to do some wine tasting then back to the park for the run through the hills.

Did you attend the car show Sunday?

I was at the BBQ only for a few minutes, didn't get to go on the cruise I had stuff to do. I think my friend went though.
But I was at the show for maybe two hours hanging out with some friends.

Volvo is a Swedish brand. OMG give it up.

Looks like a decent turn-out for a first year though. Worthersee is pretty big on this coast... shouldn't take too long to get that big over on the other coast....
