Registration is now open for the third event in the most-successful Ford Focus Exclusive open-track challenge series.

FocusChallenge III takes to the road and begins our "tour" with the first stop being the Nevada desert in September. The track at Spring Mountain Raceway in Pahrump offers a challenging course that will surely put most of the challenge drivers at a very level playing field, as its a new course to the Challenge.

We want to be able to get a good solid count of who's participating.... so please get your registration in ASAP by visiting www.focuschallenge.com and click on login... once you login, click on events... and click on Pahrump at the bottom.

NOTE: Please DO NOT register through RedLineTrackEvents.com Doing so cannot ensure participation in the FocusChallenge.

Also, keep in mind you can sign up on the Focus Challenge site now, and pay later. Signing up now just reserves you a spot (as Redline says they already have people hounding them to sign up) and allows us more leverage with the potential sponsors.

So, if you plan on going, please at least sign up on the site ASAP.

sorry.....I am not usually one to publicly vent.......but just had to express my utter depression at not being able to run any events for the rest of the year. My now 75%(!) decrease in income compared to this time last year is starting to hit hard.

It was irritating enough that I didn't even have 100% of a car last time out, but to drop out of the groove just when we're getting enthusiasm and participation up so high blows the most.

Anyhoooo.........BIG UPS as usual to Slick, Bela,BUR, Nik and everyone else that has done such a great job getting these great events going.

Check your mirrors in '05

Well in prep, all carpet and the 2 ton flo-fit drivers seat are gone....replaced with a Momo Cup (13.5 lbs) an 2 small brackets

....Im guessing a real 110lbs difference between the carpet and the seat...removed the seatbelt retractors...(about 1 lb each)

of course Craig has no side windows now

....and wants to go lexan for the front and back

....he wants me to join in as well....not convinced yet..

will hold a short test run for sway bar testin, and heat cycle some tires with nik at the streets a week before..my hope is that I can remove the Steeda rear adjustable bar..(which piggy backs the oem bar)..if so another 12 lbs....can I get the sled under 3,000

...my mission...that will really help my tire wear and heat issues

oh you guys missed a great little deal at Irwindale raceway...Craig and I went..nice little SVT car show and a few players we know were there...(remember the Bronco at the streets)pimped the sept and october event

Just kinda wondering if there are going to be more mustangs there than Focus at the next focus challenge event

...and trickle of stangs keeps coming in....

Could have a nice little rivlery starting between them

of course, I haven't hit the road course with the focus yet. The mustang's motor is in the process of being built. After the 3k motor is done, then its on to suspension, and saftey items.... So its a long, on-going project. Hope to finish it before next summer. Then I'll need a trailer, won't exactly be streetable.....

Well if you make it to this...I'll get you laps in a lx5.0 and a 04 Cobra that has 422hp on the ground...the strightline speed of the cobra is amazing...its overall lap times are prob about 2 secs slower than my gutted lx...but the power is great!!

Hi Neil,

Ya its the stang.....as much as I want to mix it up with you and a few others....I have to much time in prep on that car. Can you bring your evo to the streets on the Friday event the previous week...Think we would be pretty much at a dead heat.....Im going to heat cycle some tires...do a little adjusting.(Cars lost 100 lbs)..and coach a guy in a nasty 04 Cobra....he is very cool and would let you run it if I say so....422hp on the ground...you flat track it from 2 to 4 on that track..

I am so looking forward to running!!
