Do we have any idea on the schedule for this, even just a tenative schedule? I wanted to start planning out my year of racing. I already wrote down all the local national pro-solos and solo II's, just need to figure out the FC events.

Tentatively....
California Speedway March 5-6th Buttonwillow Raceway May 7th-8th BeaveRun on May 21-22 Streets of Willow Springs Saturday August 27th (Proposed Night Event) Spring Mountain Raceway November 5th-6th This is tentative... and perhaps more... perhaps less. But those dates have been secured at those tracks. |

You really need to evaluate how cars are classified. To many cars are incorrectly classified. I'd be nice to trust the owners to classify their own cars correctly but it apparently isn't happening. Other than some cheating going on from improper classifying, you guys did a fine job with the program last year, I'm looking forward to this years events.

Neil-
I'd appreciate any insight you might have as to the "cheating." Drop me an email. trwilson @ focuschallenge.com or PM me. I look forward to seeing you out there once again (oh and by the way... the timing and scoring will be changing........... will be much better!) |

I too am curious about the supposed "cheating" that went on. Nothing has ever been brought up to any of the Focus Challenge Leadership personnel... Todd, please share with the rest of the Leadership what SVT_Neil is sharing with you.

What is the focus challenge?
Is it a time trial like NASA has, with various classes based on mods. Or is it a full course autocross with just a few cars at a time doing timed runs? Or???? |

Lowell,
The Focus Challenge is a Time Trial type of event, cars are handicapped based on the cars mods, so a heavily modded SVT Focus can compete with a Bone Stock 2.3L Duratec Focus for the title! Focus On Mars, We will be having an event just outside of Las Vegas next year the weekend after the SEMA show (great opportunity for a trip out here), also an event in Pennsylvania, and of course our events in Southern California. The Focus Challenge will be slowly expanding to various locations around the country. In order for the Focus Challenge to pull this off, it will have to be a slow and gradual expansion, to build a secure base. We dont want to expand the series too quickly and have it fall apart. Expect a formal announcement on the series dates in the coming weeks! |

Getting favorable dates in NorCal is proving to be a problem. You guys need to get some of those rich Silicon Valley types together and build a new Club Racing track....

I'm going to try to be at the event at the Street of Willow on Aug 27th... Sounds like fun.
Also....... Is the event at California Speedway on the long course???? If so, I might also run that too. |
