Default West Coast Focus Challenge - Buttonwillow May 8th

Just wanted to get a West Coast Focus Challenge thread started.

We are only 3 weeks away from the next West Coast Focus Challenge event, so I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to know about it and chime in. We are hoping for a great turnout. We havent had a Focus Challenge event since last September, so I know many of you have been waiting a long time.

Buttonwillow is a GREAT track! Plenty of length, some elevation change, and tons of fun. Even if you are a newby, we will have MANY experienced drivers at this event who will be able to teach you many things about driving your car at its limit, safely.

Post here if you will be there, think you will be there, or have some questions for us before making a decision.

I'll be there as a cheer-leader. I miss hanging with the track monkeys. The focus unfortunately will not be there.

When do we get a No-Coast Focus Challenge?

Look for a MidWest event in 2006. Possibly Mid Ohio or another race facility near the center of the country. As well as an event in the South East, North East, and NorthWest... We're taking this thing NATIONAL baby!

I'll be there, but it appears as just a coach or in a rental.

I might be there, what does the $160 cover in all? Just the track price, or some other things too.? Thanks.

ya, it lost its motor. Taking the heads off today. The question is...short block or long block.

Ran increadable until then. Have it on camera getting by a turbo MR2 that ran 131s so I really dont know where I ended by lap time. No warning on the engine letting go.

At least its a Ford so it wont cost 15k for the engine

I'll be there as a spectator, unless I somehow come into $250 by then.

Not 100%, but I should be there to try out my first track event. I'm guessing spectators that may want to come along are welcome (free as well).

20SVT04,

The facility charges a $10 gate fee to everyone entering the gate. This charge is not associated with the Focus Challenge or Redline Track Events. So any friends/family you bring with you will need to pay $10 to enter the track.

Just FYI. I've been to buttonwillow about 4 or 5 times. I have yet to pay the gate fee. But I'm always aware that they "could" ask for it.

And dont forget. All FC participants will be up for a Borla exhaust!

I'm going to try and head out there just because its been forever since I've been to a track day. Not sure if I'll be able to go because thats during a huge event at work.

And as someone pointed out earlier... May 8th is Mothers day. I doubt I'm going unless my wife gives me permission.

Looks like I will have to bow out for the first round. My girlfriend has eye surgury on the Friday before and needs me as her seeing eye dog for the weekend. Good luck to all.

What is the difference between the "Full Event" and the "Sunday Only" listed on the Drivers List on FocusChallenge.com?
