West Coast Focus Challenge: California Speeday, July 23-24th - Focaljet

Hey everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for the next West Coast Focus Challenge to be held at California Speedway the weekend of July 22-23, 2005. This event will take place on the infield road course and not the Roval.

This event is roughly 60 days away, so for those of you planning to attend, you should have enough time to perform maintenance and/or upgrades to your vehicle ahead of this event. Please post here if you think you will be attending this event. We are hoping for the biggest West Coast Focus Challenge to date due to the centralized location of California Speedway in SoCal.

Even if you are a beginner, come on out to the event! There will be MANY experienced drivers there who can help you learn to drive your car faster and safer than you ever thought possible.

Hi guy I will be there with bells on to try to hold on to the trophy I was very lucky to win at Buttonwillow. All you Nor Cal guy should try to make as it is a fun track. If I can get 10 or more people to sign upFor rooms I can get cheap rooms at the Hampton Inn close by so let me know and I will see what I can do. Chris did you get the pictures of me and trophy i would like to have for history.

Kris you both can run as long a it is coordinated. You run first, after cool down go to hot pits, as Jeff straps in, lower rear tire pressure by 10lbs, Then brag all the way home

I surely expect some of the SoCal based Tuner companies to come play at this one. It is right in their back yard.

Lets try to break the all time attendance record, which is just over 20 Focuses I believe....

how much will it cost and what do i need to get done to participate (sincce im under 18)
i will go if i have coilovers and money for azenis by then, right now im on blown 20 yr old suspension and im jsut buying eco tires

The www.focuschallenge.com website will help.
20yr old suspension??? if thats a joke and just tired stock Focus stuff, for under $300 you can get SVT shocks, springs, and real bar through Ford performance parts distibuters

Well I heard that the 500 or so word verbage I did on the Focus Challenge will be in the SVTOA enthusiast mag. It will include 2 of Greg Ocosta fine pictures. not sure if its the next issue or the one after.
