Default Spring Mountain Raceway, NV... Site of Focus Challenge Nov. 5th

Just wanted to post this pic of the track extension to Spring Mountain and the various configurations we will be able to run. We will most likely be running the "Longest" configuration, but removing the slight chicane in the lower right of the map.... that give us speed areas for passing and also a nice section of twisties for the cars with good suspsension setups to makeup for potential lack of power...

I believe that the "Longest" config is nearly 4 miles long compared to the old setup that was just over 2 miles. That event is going to be a BLAST!

We will be there in October hosting/running an event for another group. We will be sure to take PLENTY of pics for everyone to see.

Indeed.

Maybe rent a car, pack a few boxes of sway bars, dampers, springs, brake pads... Hoo-boy.

Failing that - gary's new (to him) truck could probably stand a cross-country tow odyssey. I'd bet we could have Bruhnilda towing at least 3 foci...

The long and popular are both great.

For you folks not yet there, the straight on the right is slightly downhill. I was clipping about 130 before braking in a 350hp mustang.

Great grip at the track too with very little bumps and some killer little 6 foot elevation changes. The place truely has something for every car and driver.Plus Vegas is only 35 miles away.

Perhaps a few of you die hards can rent a focus or mustang. BTW Sema is ending the day of the event. So dont be suprised if we get a few of the die hard Ford Racers there to blow off stream after answering the same questions about 2000 times.

This track is FUN in a Rental Car!

Except the V6 Lincoln that likes to go into limp home mode once the tranny overheats!

Seriously..... you guys back east should put away some pennies. I'll give you some time behind the wheel of my ride, if you so desire.

Ooooh.. I'll take the popular setup! It skips the set of corners that I didn't like. (bad flow)

Did they add any elevation to that track?

Overall the top is slightly higher than the bottom. The elevation changes are on a few right handers you can literally throw the car up. The changes are not like say the streets, but the "G" load is higher.

After a few laps you can pitch the car up the corner and as the corner levels (Exit) carry the drift well onto the straight. Its so killer!!

Edit...reviewing the new layout one of the 2 corners I discribed is gone. The left side right is still there.

The "Popular" config is also nice. We really need to use at least part of the new "twisty" section of the addition.

Any interest from you East Coast guys in paying to transport your cars out here for the event, and transport them back? We might be able to get a good rate if you all meet up in one place, thus saving the transport company money. And, if we can pick up some sponsorship money from a company (i.e. Ford), then maybe the cost to get your cars out here and back wont be so bad..... Lemme know...

We would love to see you there. We have support vehicles as well.

FYI I ran the crap out of my car for 2 days and still had tread left. 225/50 on a mustang. The surface is real nice, and fall/early winter at 2500 ft level is just great. Like high 80s during the day.
