Focus Challenge East 2006 - Focaljet

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to make a quick post about expansion of Focus Challenge East for 2006. As Redline Track Events expands so will Focus Challenge. We will be running events at the following eastern facilities:

Mid Ohio
BeaveRun
Summit Point

We hope to see many of you Focus enthusiasts out at our events in 2006. These FC events will be held on the weekends of our Redline:Time Attack! events (MidOhio and Summit Point) where we will fit them into the schedule more than likely at the end of the day after a full day of practice and tuning.

If you have comments or questions please post them here and I will answer them as quickly as I can.

What is happening on the west coast, how many event are we going to have and when do you think the first one will be.

No more transponder where you take the best time of the day? Just one timed hot lap now?

After hearing reports from the last events, I hope to be able to get enough time off work to make at least one of the events, even if I can't play with the focus challenge peoples.

Do you have any dates on these events???

The first Focus Challenge West event will more than likely be January 15-16th at Buttonwillow Raceway... :-)

BadIdea,

We will still use transponders and take the best time of the day. However, the Focus Challenge session (Foci on the track by themselves) will occur at the end of the day. From what we have seen at previous FC events, most people's best times of the day come from the actual Focus Challenge session where you have 3 clean hot laps with no traffic.

Summit Point will be the weekend of September 23rd, BeaveRun will more than likely be in late May to early June (same as this year) and MidOhio Im still waiting to hear from, but will more than likely be in April.

We will continue to expand to other states/facilities as long as we receive support from folks like you guys! I really hope we can make it down to Florida and one more facility in the South East in 2007... there is an outside chance it could happen in 2006.

Great to hear its coming together!! Cant wait to see Redlines scedule so I can incorporate as much of Barber Driving Experience with it as possible.

We are still finalizing our 2006 schedule, but expect us to be at Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, Cali Speedway and possibly a track in Arizona and maybe even Reno-Fernley Raceway... I would also like very much to go to the North West if at all possible. :-)

Im leaning towards a West Coast schedule that looks like:

ButtonWillow
Cali Speedway
Willow Springs

We'll see what Willow and Cali can give us. Im hoping we can space the events out by 2-3 months each. That gives time for people to plan, mod/repair cars, save money, etc.

Thunderhill is already booked up. Laguna and Sears are extremely cost prohibitive and weekends/fridays are impossible to get.

There is an outside chance that we pickup a date at Reno-Fernley. You should check out their new track extension, it looks great!

I want to say it will be the Shenandoah Circuit, but Im not certain. I need to call my contact there to double check which track it is they have promised us.

Mid-Ohio in April = Snow. Ask NASA OH/IN about the last two years and snow. :-)

Florida = If the Integra Type R Expo is lightly attended [I think it might be in Florida this year] maybe you guys could piggy back with them?

I know that April at MidOhio will be risky. Last year at BeaveRun on May 21-22, it rained the night before on the 20th and it rained the night of the 22nd... just missed us.

Hopefully we can secure the last weekend in April and that will be close or well enough into Spring that it wont Snow.
