Default Focus Challenge, Summit Point Raceway, August 5th

Hey everyone,

This thread is for discussion of the Focus Challenge slated for August, 5th 2006 at Summit Point Raceway (Shenandoah Circuit) during the Redline Time Attack weekend.

We have opened registration for this event at the following location:

https://secure23.bottomlinecom.net/r...x.php?cPath=32

The Focus Challenge will run Saturday and the Redline Time Attack will run Sunday. I encourage all of you to stick around on Sunday and enter your Focus into the Redline Time Attack. We will have Modified Magazine out to cover the weekends event as well as G4 TV and possibly 3S magazine. We are also working on additional media coverage.

If you have any questions for me, please post them here.

I hope to see a decent turnout of Focus owners at this event. Ron and I will be working on prizes and awards for the Focus Challenge at Summit Point and we intend to make it one kick ass event!

Entered, for Challenge and Time Attack.

C'mon, my East-Coast brethren - we are bringing the lame to trackdays this year. Let's DO THIS like we know how, and make it our big'un! Hyperfest is giant suck, VIR is too far for many...

IF YOU DO ONE EAST COAST TRACKDAY THIS YEAR, MAKE IT THIS ONE!

Jon? Lowell? Rob? Bri? Joe? Joe? Eric? n00bs?

Bring it, you sons-a-bitches. Bring it.

From what I've heard, this event WILL kick ass. Be there, or be L7.

Only if it's dry, ah and I've spent more time in the right seat there than any other course. BTW, I have the fire extinguisher mounted in the van, just for you.

Definitely need lots of Focuses there.

Definitely need more Focuses at this event. There were a lot of Time Attack FWD trophies that didn't get passed out at BeaveRun. Here is your chance to get one.

Let's see if anyone can knock "thetable" out of this picture.

I've got a TON of Vacation time to burn.... so I'd almost like to go out for this... but alas... the budgetary contstraints.

Yeah, if everyting shapes up as we expect and are planning for, this weekend will be off the HOOK! packed house of cars, vendor mid way, car show, couple thousand spectators on Sunday. Should be a ton of fun!

If you just want come hang out for the weekend or compete in the Time Attack in a different car, thats fine. Im just hoping we'll see some Foci compete in FWD classes at Summit Point. No reason they cant be competitive. :-)

Squirt ran a couple tenths faster at the last race at BeaveRun than did my Neon, just for reference. Then again, last time I was at Shenandoah, I posted FTD by 2+ seconds in said Neon. BRING IT.

Just have to make the car faster to overcome the weight.

Assuming the same schedule as BR, there will be a couple short recesses for timed runs on both days, with the rest regular run groups.
IIRC, Sunday's schedule was Street Class, Modified Class, Unlimited Class, Street Class, Modified Class, Unlimited Class, lunch, timed runs, 1 hr open practice, timed runs.

Do you have to have some kind of license or driving school or anything like that to participate? I'd kind of like to go as well as participate, but I've never done anything like this before, not even autocrossing. I'm going to try to go anyway and spectate if that's possible.
