3.3 handicap

Just one question. The engine choices on the handicapper did not include my engine (2.0 PZEV). I used the 2.3 PZEV in my calculation. If there is a change can you please tell me. Thank you.

I ran a 1:40.318 in my stock SVT Focus on the new full-tread OEM Conti's, according to my Racepak G2X GPS timing equipment, FWIW. I ran a 1:38.527 on March 14 on the old configuration of turn #4 and with the original Conti's that I managed to wear to cord. I guess the heat was worth a couple of seconds at least...

It's looking like most ppl either ran the same or 1 sec. slower in the 2nd session.

Must have been the heat??

I really do wonder how much that factored in.

Yes you should use the 2.0 zetec to be closest.

We need to add the new engines. I'll get to that soon.

a 3.3.............. That sounds low to me....

I guess the Diff is worth some.. Mine is a 4.05:

2.3L
Header
Intake
Exhaust
SVT Brakes
KW Coilovers
Weight reduction
Kumho MX Tires

I think Lorin ran away with this one.... His corrected time is 1:26.445 and the next closest that I have calculated so far is a 1:29.620.

Lorin, what tire's were you using?

How much does my car weigh? It still has all it's bits and pieces. 'Not sure I got that right on my handicap.
I don't weigh 2800lbs+...do I? I went 2500-2800lbs. Is that right?

2800+ Is either an SVT with sunroof or 5 door hatchback I think. Dunno about sedans...

My SVT with all options stock weighed in at 2880 when I checked it.

Go to your local recycle center and borrow the scale for a sec.!!

I was using RA-1s.

As for weight... I was told a couple years ago that it was car + driver for the weight rating.

Uhh... Time out guys.... How come Street tires have a Handicap of 0, and the stickiest have a handicap of 4.

Isn't that backwards?

Yes Nik just alerted me to it, I'm gonna fix it in a sec.

We made the changes a while ago, just never validated it I guess.

Holy Crap...that tire change plus the weight change (assuming my SVTF with sunroof is 2800+) made me a 2.75 now.

My handicap is at 4.5 as the car stood at yesterdays event. Just rechecked it on the website.

That sounds about right. I'm a .75 with street tires. Without street tires I'd be -.5 or something.

Remember there have been no changes to forced induction yet, and also we havent' created the "track factors" yet, which will include multipliers for different areas depending on tracks, and honestly there should be a final correction factor for temps to give the boost guys a chance. Lastly there should be a weight penalty for previous winners.

I'm actually wishing this site would stay used. I really like it and wouldn't mind finishing it up. I guess it's up to Ron and Nick.

I'm at 2.5 Things are making a little more sense now.
So what your saying is currently there is no correction for non-intercooled JRSC VS Intercooled units for example. I'm looking for excuses besides lack of talent when the final results are tallied. Lap times were significantly slower than my February times.

Mine has changed to a 9.75.

How do the handicap and the raw lap time interact to produce results (sorry, i'm new to all of this ) ?
