Yup. Stoners Trim Shine does wonders on the plastic pieces. Even with wax dried on them (didn't have time to erase the wax). You can still see the wax but they look greatly improved. And their bug and tar remover rocks too.

I had some wax that dried on my door handles and mirrors on my 03 Foci. It sat there for about 6 months. I finally got time and a break in weather at the same time and used Mothers Back to Black and alot of elbow grease. Their back to shiny black.

Yep. I tried the light gray/almost white art eraser and it worked like a charm.

The black to black works really good i have used it for the same problem but it makes a greasy film in ur paint whereever u use it an it sux if u use it before waxing ur ride cuz then u get the wax on the black if u use it after u was to remove the buildup u get grease all over ur paint that doesnt come out till u clean ur car again an buff it out... so.. ur screwed either way lol

I just noticed that 3M adhesive remover can at Walmart today also has in its title "& Wax remover" so you could probably use that stuff if you have a whole lot of wax on your trim. The eraser will work more times than not though, especially in smaller bits at a time! Or you can use a wax that won't leave white residue behind, that works best of all.

The Mothers Back to Black will work just fine after you have waxed. Just keep a real good quality Micro-Fiber Towel handy to wipe the excess Mothers off. Works great for me. After you apply the Mothers BTB, wipe it dry with a seperate towel. Then for a final protectant, apply 303 Space Age Protectant over all seals, black mirrors, ect... Thats what I do and my car and truck look great.

I recently tried this stuff called "Black Again Exterior Trim Restorer." Works even better than Back to Black.

If you have textured trim, you can also try Mr Cleans
Magic Eraser. Work pretty good for me.

i have started painting my trim so i don't worry about this as much. but i do use that eagle 1 wet tire stuff, that keeps the trim black for a decent amount of time.

also when i was at the body shop supply place getting stuff to paint my trim, i came across a product made specifically for this, the name was something like textured plastic trim wax remover or something like that. i was amazed that there was such a thing, no idea how it works, but such a product does exist, tho i would imagine you would have to go to a supply store that deals specifically with body shop supplies.

the eraser works to remove dried wax but thats all.
3m makes a product called refresh, vinyl/leather protector
use that with a toothbrush, then wipe it off, and it removes the dried wax, and leaves it looking armoralled. Lasts a while too. also great for the interior, but I prefer ultra-gloss armoall, some dont like high gloss. I do

I HAVE FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!

Its made by 3M, and its called...Adhesive, and wax remover of all things. http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001...ler/output_html

It actually works, it took the wax off of both of my side moldings with minimal effort. I really suggest the use of a brush...I used a tooth brush. I also used a rag.

Its not a wipe on and wipe off process, but it freaking works. I can't believe my mouldings are wax free...its been over a year since I first got wax on them, and now they are wax free

I say maybe a 20lb sledge or even a basic hammer will do.

Has anyone tried bug and tar remover? My son was cleaning tar off with a gel remover and goy some on his moldings. Cleaned the wax off and left the molding looking better than any of the commercial appearence restorers. I'm just not sure of any long term effects.

I'll admit I had old wax from seriously a year and a half ago (my wax now doesn't stain). And I Finally tried getting it with a pink eraser, worked like a charm!

I was afraid all the rumors were untrue and I'd have to try something else, but seriously go to Staples or CVS and pick one up for a buck. I tried B2B but after it washed/rained off the residue was still Under it, it just covered up.
