Default Wax dried on side molding trim.... what can take it off????

One time I waxed the car and I got wax on the side molding trim(the black plastic on the doors) and it dried. NOw it won't come off no matter what... it looks so ugly 'cause the side trim is black and there is a white streak all over it. I tried everything and nothing will take it off.... Anyone know what can take it off or what I can do to take it off? Has anyone ever had this problem?? thanks...

If you use a pencil eraser, that should do the trick.

You can also use a product called Kleen-Easy, available from NAPA. It's a solvent based cleaner that also works well for removing road tar, tree sap, etc..

What really saves time and isn't too expensive is a couple rolls of 2" masking tape.

tape off the plastics, and you can really get a good wax job done w/o worrying about getting wax all over everything.

Ya that black trim is a pain to keep one color. I used to use son-of-a-gun. But this time after going with the Mothers clay bar and wax I used Mothers Back-to-Black. Worked for me.

there are actually better things to use than pencil erasers...

Staedtler plastic erasers. You SHOULD be able to get the orange or blue varieties at any drafting/art supply.
The benefit of these is that they are much, much harder. they don't wear out like erasers meant for paper and pencil. one eraser will probably last you forever. i did my whole car with one and it hardly rounded the corners. you can do th whole car in about 5 minutes with them, then take one of those meguiars bug and tar wipes to it to finish the deal.

i'm sorry, i'm an artist, i have to have a preference.

I thought all that is holding them in is 3M double sided tape.
