I have an original Malibu Blue with original paint, that's in pretty good shape. The paint on the hood and roof are starting get somewhat dull, but I believe they can still be buffed out by a professional with a high speed buffer.
The car currently has been sitting int he driveway in the sun for a few months, as I'm working on making garage space for it which is where it will ultimately sit. My question is... having it sit in the sun daily is giving me terrible anxiety as I fear the paint is dieing more and more every day. Will putting a car cover on the car all day prevent the sun from eating the paint? I clay bared and waxed it really good a few months ago before it started to sit, but I know it needs to be waxed again but I don't have time. Where can i buy a cheap but SUN protective cover that will suffice for a few more months to stop further sun brutality. Also, at what point do you know the paint is too far gone to be buffed out and restored? Sorry for the poor post, I need to get some peace of mind on this bad. It's killing me thinking that I might be killing her paint. I want to keep this car pristine. Thanks detailing guys. I know nothing about detailing and honestly hate it.

My car has been sitting in the driveway for about a little less than 3 years. In direct sunlight.
I need to get a cover for it too, so I will be wondering where this thread will be going.

I have a covercraft NOAH car cover. Ive had it about 3-4 years. Seems to do a good job at keeping out the elements. I just washed it yesterday for the first time.
Wash the car, and put a good coat of wax on it. Cover it and it should be fine. The NOAH material breathes but it waterproof...had issues last year getting the car in the barn for the winter and had a lot of snow and ice covering it. I did get a few scuff marks from that. But in Florida, you shouldnt have an issue. There are cheaper covers out there, but you often get what you pay for.

walmart has little 10x10 portable tent thingy that works great. i paid 88 bucks for mine, and it is hight adjustable, so you can lower it to right over your car.
I will get a picture of mine tomorrow.
