Default Rim Cleaning

On my 09 I have the Euro-style SVT rims and being that I have a gravel driveway they tend to get dusty very quickly. Not to mention all the break dust I get from my front disks. What would you reccomend for cleaning this and keeping them nice and shiny I was thinking of picking up a Mothers Power-Cone and a bottle of some tire and wheel cleaner.

Get one of these and you'll thank yourself every single day that you use it.

As for chemicals, I suggest only using soap and water on your wheels. I know that dust gets on there quickly, but keep them clean regularly and it won't be so bad.

Any time of harsh chemical will eventually eat the clearcoat on the wheels and that's not good, mmmkay.

A few coats of wax after helps to remove brake dust later. I've used a claybar as well to help remove grime from the wheels.

Also, if you rotate your own wheels, when you take them off, give them a good cleaning all around. Most people neglect to clean the inside dish of the wheel since it's not easy to get to. Let them go for too long and good luck making them look new again....

It should be fine.

I've started veering away from heavy degreasers like Purple Power and such.

I just use soap, water, and that motorcycle wheel brush to clean the spokes.

Then I go back afterward with a towel and touch them up again.

Yeah, my stockers are like that, but the Ultraleggeras will not be neglected like that.

When Lopedia gave them to me, I took them into the bathroom and cleaned them, clayed them, and got all the tar and sticky weight glue off of them. You wouldn't even know they'd been mounted other than the fact that they have a few scratches from someone "scrubbing" the sticky weights off with something metallic.

My high end details get the inner wheels cleaned....especially the red Evo that I take care of on a monthly basis.

any specific reason why you prefer the mini to the standard size? im guessing ease of use? im looking into getting either since my cheap wheel brush is beginning to show me why it only cost $4.

edit: realized you are using the motorcycle brush and not the mini.
