Ford Zetec 2.0 *This is made for the Caterham seven. Installation in a Focus will be difficult.
Yeah, and it's like $1600 to boot.

You could slap that on a stock head and run Street Prepared, right?

How does one measure airflow with a setup like that? MAP sensor on one of the TBs somewhere? Or do you not even measure the air and just base flow off of the TPS, "load" calculations, etc.? Is there any way to maintain the stock ECU with something like a custom SCT chip/tune???

the listing mentions hondata or motec ECUs so i'm sure you can get a map and then you'll just have to tune it.

yes, this would be the ideal intake setup for SP! at $1600 it's probably got a better cost-benefit ratio to a lot of high-end manifold/single TB setups. definitely want to modify the hood for cowl induction (which happens to be legal in SP as long as it's the stock hood!)

Those are very nice but if you're on a budget you can get a pair of suzuki gsxr 45mm itb's for cheap and 48mm hayabusa itb's for a little more if you wait for the auction to pop up.

The tb's slide on parallel rails so they are adjustable to our cyinder spacing. I think you would need a custom sealed airbox around the itb's so you could still use the maf setup.

Got the idea from these honda guys...

Not the prettiest setup but looks like it could be done fairly cheap.

You are going to have a hell of a time getting that to fit in a Focus, in a standard setup. Plus, you'll need SCT so you can overhaul the ECU to use it.

Now, on the other hand, the Duratec has plenty of room up front...

    EDIT: Beaten by a Smoe...

could you potentially modfy the air horns to get more air in there? i think it was decided there would be another few inches before the firewall...

To be honest... I think the Zetec has more room behind it than the Duratec has in front of it. With some component movement and a little firewall "convincing", I think it cold happen.

if you could adapt a collector before the throttle bodies... scoop it up and back it on back of the hood... nice ram air affect

I knew that STI hood scoop I had kicking around would come in handy one day.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to do this w/o running the air through a MAF sensor or running a MAP sensor. You'd have to tune based on assumptions about how much air is drawn in on the intake stroke, guess, correct, cross your fingers, factor in whatever other sensors are relavent... There's got to be a way...

If you feel like spending an arm, two legs, and a testicle you can get an ITB setup by Omex or Weber from Burton Power in England. Comes with everything, including management it looks like. link Hrmmm, a RWD Zetec with itbs, now that would be fun.

You'd really need a MAP at a minimum to have it run well. There should be some vacuum fittings on those adapters... Our Quad-4 had MAP connected to two of the throttle bodies, and it worked pretty well, though four would be ideal.

Ahh, that's how they do it when they run wide open throttle bodies (no airbox or even filter )... MAP sensor, then tune based on that being one cylinder rather than all of them. I knew there had to be a way.

Reason # 7021893408 why I need to buy a second car.
