The FocusSport 5 Speed Zetec dyno sheet showed about a 3TQ/4HP gain on a car with I/H/E. I don't know what to expect on a 2.0L Duratec.

Keep in mind though, that power isn't the only thing that makes the difference. The car's whole attitude changes with a tune. Power delivery is smoother, the air, fuel, and ignition handling is refined, certain sensors and ECU parameters are re-calibrated, and the car simply feels different.

I would worry less about doing "pocket calculator dyno" numbers. The SCT unleashes the Focus' potential in more than just HP and TQ numbers.

I dont think my question ever really got answered.

When I look at the XCAL2 page, there is two things to buy, both the same price.
One is the Manual
The other is the automatic.

My question is, does the automatic version include the programming for the shifts points, or do I have to pay extra to have it put in?

You don't have to pay extra for shift control with the XCal2, it's already included.

Sweet thank you. After I get these camshafts installed, the next thing in line is the chip.

Trying to figure out my P0605 "Corrupt PCM" issue. Can this code be cleared with the XCal2?

Can you correct my tune for a Cosworth intake manifold (that is, so that the lack of CMC/tumble flaps is not an issue)?

I "can" do it, I just haven't yet and I don't have time right now. It would have to be well after SEMA.

So even though you sell the Powerworks supercharger you will inly tune it if the Pro-package is bought or I drive down to get a Dyno Tune???

Also... I know that the Xcal2 is Locked in but can it be used to bring up PCM trouble codes from other Foci? Or is that something that is also locked?

On the rare occasion that I do programming for the PW kits, I'm only doing them in-house. In other words, I won't sell someone a program and mail it off to them. If you buy the Pro Racer, YOU do the programming, I just start you off with a base file to start with, but it is not a finished product.

A locked XCal2 flasher can be used to scan and clear troubles codes on any 1996 and newer Ford. It will also data log.

Dumb question. I probably just over looked it or can't find the sticky, but I have am looking to get a second XCAL2 since mine is being used in anotehr vehicel. It's locked and needs to be tuned for my PCM. What is the cost and turn around for it to be done?

We charge $150 to unlock flashers and $100 for each program that we create for used/second hand flashers.

What's the process for switching over from 87 to 93 octane? Just let it go to empty then fill with 93?

Fill up with 100% 93 octane before you use the flasher. Letting it go empty and then filling it up will work, but be sure its really low because your reserve tank is almost 2 gallons IIRC.

ohh ok... well I may be hitting you up for one of these soon, we'll see how money goes. How would you compare the improvement from tuning the car (w/ intake and exhaust) with the improvement from installing an intake? You know, the butt dyno haha

I currently have an SCT chip with the EGR disabled, rear 02 sensor disabled and the idle rpm's raised.

Everything was working great for the longest time and then I started to get hanging revs where I slowed down and placed the car into neutral. It would hang around 2K rpms or higher for 15-20 seconds to drop to normal.

I disconnected the battery for a few hours and took the chip out. I then took the car into the dealership to have them look at. The only thing they found was the base idle was set too high and they adjusted it back to normal. The car does run a lot better than before. The idle does not hang like it used to.

My question is why would the base idle have been set too high after the chip was pulled out and the battery disconnected for a few hours? Shouldn't everything return back to the stock programing when the chip is pulled out? Could there be something wrong with the chip? I would like to get some feedback before I put the chip back in to see what happens.

Thanks,
Dave

Whoever told you that was full of it and has no clue about how the ECU works. Sounds like a vacuum leak or an Idle Speed Control valve that is going bad. Could also be a faulty TPS or a failing spring on the TP, though I doubt it.

I kind of figured that . That's the dealer for you. I know it's not the IACV since I replaced it and it did not fix it. I'll try the TPS next. I am correct to assume that once the chip is out everything should go back to how it was before it was inserted.

Right, if the chip is out, the chip's settings are not stored in the ECU. At least not any of the idle stuff. Fuel trims could be affected for a short amount of time, but the
