I was going to look for a new Focus this week as I am sick of repairing my 2000 ZTS. It's not the car that is bad, it's that the previous owner did not maintain it at all. The rusty bolts here in MI have been my biggest obsticle, not the actual repairs. That said, I was thinking about a new '08. I do not love the styling, but I think it is a wonderful car. Only problem is I can't really get the car equipped they way I want. I would want a SES without the SYNC, which is not possible. I could load a SE nearly to want I want, but not exactly.

So with this news, I hope it is more of what I would be looking for in styling. I will suffer with my 2000 until this new one is available and will promptly order one!

Well, I won’t say Holiday, but dam if I’m not calling in a few favors.

It looks like something is moving our way and lets just say its about time. As I’m waiting to see if I'll need to put a deposit down..

What this means to you: Ford hopes the Focus RS will do for its European image what the Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru WRX have done to enhance those brands' performance pedigrees. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

We Won't Be Doing That Again
Take the strange case of the Ford Focus, a situation that stunned Mulally when he arrived at the company. Though the brand name is sold worldwide, the Focus is not created equally across international borders. The Focus sold in Europe is not the same as the one sold in the U.S. American auto enthusiasts have long whined about being unable to buy the European-specification Focus in the U.S., and they wailed even louder when they learned the redesigned 2008 Focus for the U.S. would not have the Euro underpinnings either.

But no more. Starting with the forthcoming Ford Verve, Ford vehicles will be global for the most part, declares Mulally.

If you don't do it now,

The 2009 Focus has undergone some exterior changes and that is the reason for this event. And this isn't like before where there was a minor tweek to the fog lights, this is more significant from what I have heard. As far as I know, no images of the revised exterior have been released or leaked.

Can you verify the changes only apply to the Focus Coupe and not the sedan??

Howdid I miss this cross posted thread???

I'll be there, curious to see what's been changed. Though if it's coupe only I'm sure it's not my styling beef thats been changed.

oh if they jacked up the ponies to like 180ish

or hell if they are going to do that might as well turbo it

randy im excited...............

i just dont see focussport opening up their doors to show off a focus with a different front bumper and a different taillight design or something like that

Focussport IS a tuner company

i'd be willing to bet 10 dollars with anyone its going to have to do with a "slightly sportier" coupe version coming out?

(you have to give me 100 to 1 odds though knowing Ford )

Yes, they are tuners, but they are also Focus enthusiasts. I see them opening their doors to allow US the opportunity to get a first hand view of anything new as it relates to the Focus.Let's not speculate too much here, or expect anything other than what may be a simple, but more eye pleasing design.

I just don't want anyone to get their hopes up too high on this one. I believe FocusSport will open their doors for anything relating to the Focus, and I don't want them to be turned off to doing this in the future, no matter how big or small.

I will continue to dream and wonder about the next gen. I think we will be happy in the evolutions of that model.

In all honesty, just like your life or job is what you make of it, so is what you drive. The Focus can have ample power, and has great suspension geometry, and light weight! Just a few tweaks in the current platform can make for a VERY fun car!

If they finally bring a Euro Focus platform to the US, 2.3l turbo at the very least, I will trade in this brand new mazda, THE DAY IT COMES OUT! Mark my words!

i am sure a few of us will ask them about euro

i think this is them showing us a sneak peek and they want to hear our reactions to the changes they made. And maybe take note to what our likes and dislikes are.
