Default xcal 2 problems

hey, I just bought an xcalibrator 2 and tried to use it on my car, i get as far as turning my key to the on position, the device will get to

uploading ecm 0%
then it says please wait and then upload fail turn key to off

i bought the xcal2 this week and it arrived at 4pm which is 1pm in cali on friday, so in other words as soon as i realized i needed tech support, they were closed until monday.

so im sitting here completely frustrated with this device.

the weird thing is, is that i can do datalogging, find the dcl codes, get my strategy and everything else, i just cant flash my cars computer.

any suggestions on what the problem could be?

still unable to get the flasher to work, I have tested every fuse in my fuse boxes and they are all good. I have tried flashing with the fuel pump and electrical wire fuses out, i have also tried taken out the fuse for the radio, I thought maybe it was my upgraded head unit that was interfering but it still didnt work then. I have double checked that I gave Focus Sport the right code off of my on board computer and I have made sure that the cable doesnt get jarred while trying to flash. I know my battery is still in very good condition and should be able to handle the process.

Is there any fuses that are hidden I need to check? such as on the computer itself?

any input and suggestions would be great!

I really want this thing to work, but if it doesnt, would the actual chip itself be a better choice? i choose the flasher because i thought it would be faster and easier then taking things out and replacing them.
