SCT Advantage Re-Install question

so, my computer is starting to act up, and I think it is time for reformatting. I however have been puting this off because I'm afraid of losing use of the SCT software.....I was wondering if there is a way to "extract" the code that I initially had to email out for to get the software working or if I have to go back through the whole process(which may be difficult because i no longer have all of the stuff to fill out or whatever).....this way i could write it down for when i reformat and have to re-install the program

anyone know anything about this?

If you are running the old 2.9xxx versions of Advantage, you have to upgrade. SCT no longer supports the old stuff and you can't do what you are asking about, it was pretty hardcore encrpyption.

It costs $100 to upgrade.

ouch, thats not what i wanted to hear lol.....

Well, I'm assuming this is the boat I am in, because i bought the pro racer package like 3+ years ago right after the Xcal2 came out.

so I'm guessing/hoping that this upgrade comes with a new base file too?

It comes with your stock data base ( ECU code ) that you can create files with, yes.

well, i purchased the PRP from you previously....will the old file i have been using be compatible with the new version?
