Default Engine Internals FAQ?

How about we start a forced induction guide for internals, like who makes what.

Rods: Crower 300hp+, Eagle up to 300hp, ?

Pistons: J&E, Diamonds, Weisco, Focus-Central, Probe, Ross, ?

Main Caps: Focus-Power(hardened steel), Pro-gram(mild steel), ?

Crank: Stock Cryo(Focus-Power), Crower Billet, ?

Block: WRC/CGI (Focus-Power or Mcnews), ?

Head Gaskets: Cometic, ?

Rod/Main bearings: Clevite, Federal-Mogul, ?

Misc. Hardware: ARP Bolts, ?

Feel free to chime in and I will update my first post and maybe we can make this a sticky? Just trying to get an idea of who all makes what for when I'm ready to build my bottom end now that I'm boosted. Thanks

quite honestly has anyone ever *needed* the cgi block? No one has even come close to losing a stock block.

I am not sure.... for some reason I am thinking that Tom does actually run OEM. Maybe not though... but off of the top of my head, I cannot think of anyone who makes an aftermarket gasket.

I'm going to leave cams and headwork out of this for now as there are some many options to choose with cams and head packages. What about the oil squirters, I know the svt has them but i don't think the blocks are inter-changeable are they? Does the CGI block have them?

Just informed that the CGI block does have the oil squirters to aid in cooling the pistons.

I know there's more out there than this but can't think of any. I thought it was Tekin that posted something about a company that made main caps? Maybe he'll chime in with some info.
