i am trying to mount my starter back up and two of the bolts wont go on any farther. I am not sure if i am missing something. any clue? its the top one and the one directly behind it. the hole on the starter is threaded but the hole on the tranny is not threaded. its been a while since i took it apart so it confuses me.

make sure your wheel spokes have enough arce to them to clear the width of the calipers, if not, you'll have to run a spacer which will cause more torque steer then if you didnt have the spacers.

also, if your car is going to see alot of road course action, switch to the slotted version of the rotors
once your current drilled ones ware out. Another thing, make sure you dont wear the rotors too thin,
keep tabs on the thickness and try not to go under or to low under the minimum thickness labeded
on the rotor, cause if you do it could possibly distort the mounting holes on the aluminum hat which
will ruin the hat. If the hats runined it'll take a while for brembo to get you new ones since they are
special order and they're expensive

The top 2 bolts go thru the trans into the starter and the bottom bolt goes thru the stater into the trans. You have the top 2 in backwards.

Hey red, another thing. The calipers and the rotors are directional.
the rotors should spin in the direction that when your wheels are
moving forward, the vanes should dissiapate the heat out ward,
not "scope" the air inward. Also, theres a small arrow above the
brembo logo on the caliper, when the caliper is mounted, the arrow
should be pointing down, and make sure the brake bleeder valve is
toward the top of the caliper

I cut a piece of metal, using the gasket as a template and just bolted it up to the flange with the pre-existing bolts and plenty of High Temp RTV. Ideally, there'd be a way to block it directly at the manifold, but I'm not sure there is...

You need to hit "enter" on your key board after each image. If you don't people have to scroll left and right.

you can plug it right at the manifold i did mine like that when you take it off find a coin or a round pice of metal that fits in and i used a lot of jb weld over it workd out fine
as of taking it off the litle outer ring spins off i used a chizel and a hammer to get it to move after it moves it spins out like a screw

^^Beat me to it. Red, you should check in to the Regional Forums and Clubs: Team NE area. There's information about local meets and get-togethers, and there's a guy in Windsor, VT looking for a FJ pal, lol. Great start for the build, looks like New England is getting treated to a handful of turbo Foci this year.

Just as my thread gets bumped from the first page I got some pics of the progress.

man thats one ugly alternator. but its coming together finally.

Any tips to clean that tranny?

waiting for the manifold and turbo from massive, cough steve cough.

Did anyone else notice on the massive msx-90 ignition pack that the MSD logo is on the wrong side of the ignition, it's facing the head.

This last picture is the backside of the alternator, i snapped of the bolt that, i believe a ground wire goes to, Is this something i can just replace? I'll post this question in team tech too.

The snows all gone it was 85 last week. Wish this thing was on the road.

that bugged me too about the MSD label...

that bolt isnt for a ground wire, it is a "positive" lead that goes straight to the battery

dont think its replaceable, I think you need a new alternator... But I could be wrong.

Look a little higher up on the white plastic piece, theres a red cap on it, take that cap off and theres another nut under it I think, try messing with that.

If you want to take the EGR tube off completely, you can do so and fill the hole with plastic filler. it seals really well. I havent had any issues...just an idea.

I've got the engine in turbos on. Front brakes rear brakes. Haven't got the e-brake figured out yet what a pita. Just waiting on the rest of the kit. I really like the looks of the SPA manifold, courtesy of MSS. Hopefully soon it will be driven.

I still need to do a bit of cleaning.
