Default PWSC Kit

So, I bought venoms PWSC. I will be running it in stock setup with the exception of the intake tube of which I will be using the MSS unit. Unfortunately the cost of the kit ate my budget for an a/f gauge and egt gauge. So i was wondering on if those 2 gauges are a must to run the stock setup or can I get away with just going old school for a while and just check the plugs for a lean condition every 500 miles until i can afford the gauges.

If you're running the stock tune, I don't think you need ANY gauges. They're nice but the stock PW tune is quite robust though it does have some idle issues. I would save for the EGT gauge. I find them more useful on a factory tuned car than a wideband. If you're planning to retune the car later then I think the wideband is a definite must have. Until then, just use your head and avoid the five minute long, max load, max speed, WOT runs.

Yeah, next summer when I build up the bottom end and place massives portwerks head on there, I will definetly be getting it on a dyno to perfect the tune, especially for the 2.4 pulley. I was just curious on the chance of the pw running on the lean side or not. Atleast with it running rich I don't have to worry about burning up the valves. On the 2.4 pulley how much boost does the m62 kick out?

About 15 lbs.

that depends on the head and flow rate.

u cant relate boost to how much power all the time.

I understand all of that. As the system becomes less restrictive, boost will become less and power will be up. I was just curious on were the pulley might put it. It won't even be until next summer when I even try to run the 2.6 or even a 2.4. I was just thinking of buying a 2.4 and holding on to it. It seems like as of late anything that I want for my focus, is either discontinued or on eternal backorder. Just trying to take a proactive approach to the kit.

New question for anyone running this kit.

I didn't get with the kit the adapter harness that connects to the original plug on the IAC and the MAF plug so,

On the extension harness the connects from the IAC to the IAC connector and has the one single pin connector for the intercooler relay which wire did they use for the single pin? I just need to know in case he can't find the harness.

Also, since I don't have the new connector for the MAF do the pins stay in there original locations on the new plug? Just thinking that maybe I can pull the two I need for the IAT and just plug the pin locations in the MAF with some RTV. Again just in case he can't find the plug.

Also what oil do I use within the SC. Just want to get things in order so that when the snout is shipped from massive I know what oil needs to go in it. Also where would the drain and fill holes be?
Total newb when it comes to these M series SC's. Last blower I worked on was an 8-71 years ago. ( wouldn't that be sic if you could mount a 6-71 to the zetec. Be sporting a huge blower through the hood of a compact. Sorry I was just laughing about it, while picturing it in my head)

Thanks for the help in advance!!

Does anyone know the answer to the MAF pin question? I'll ask again , The manual says to remove pin 6 and pin 1 from the original MAF harness and place them in the new connector to connect to the IAT on the powerworks manifold. I understand that doing this will allow the ECM to see the actual intake temps after the S/C. The manual then states that the other for connectors are to be transfered over into a new connector for the MAF. I would like to know if the connectors remain in the their original positions in the the new MAF connector (e.g the outside pins are not used with the new MAF connector) ? The only reason I am asking is because I got the kit used and unfortunetly some things like this MAF connector are missing.

Pin #1 and 6 are IAT and it doesn't matter in what order they get routed to the PWSC IAT .

The MAF pins go in a PW 4-pin connector extension harness - 2 on top, 2 on bottom - so no the postioning isn't the same.

If you are making your own extension harness for the MAF just keep the order the same.
