JUst do what I did, have your mom move to Georgia and register your car there, no inspections or emissions, only the yearly registration fee.

Is there a Focus ECU left in the car?

My best bet might be to register it out of state. I have family in Florida. I would hate to give up my custom license plate.

Yes there is.

In the middle of nowhere Georgia, there aren't emissions. For the most part... anywhere you'd ~want~ to live in Georgia requires emissions tests.

you should be able to piggy back a focus computer in there and program it to report all's well to the obd2 port. yes that is an expensive option but it is an option.

The man just put a twin turbo v8 in a focus... I don't think expense is an issue.

I would need the computer that came with the car. I have no idea where that computer might be. As of now it looks like I will have to register it out of state.

I don't want to live in Georgia, that's why I live in Pennsylvania. My car is legally registered in Georgia, because I'm a resident of both states.

Yes, we connect the VIP inspection computer to the OBD II port and it grabs the VIN and then checks for codes and the emission systems readiness flags.
This keeps less scrupulous people from pulling up another car next to the one being inspected and connecting that one instead.
It still happens, but it's a bad day if you get caught. <---Big fines!

Plus, the car would never legally pass a visual inspection considering the engine was never offered for that year or any year Focus for that matter.

Yes, but you can slip by the visual inspection.

The ECU inspection would be a pain in the balls. People that make the huge investment in the equipment to do the inspections I'm sure don't want to lose it over a V8 focus.

A lot of states (California included) don't actually require the engine to be one that was offered in that particular vehicle...it just needs to be from that model year, or newer.

Technically ALL states have emissions.
It's a federal offense to disable or remove factory emissions equipment.

I don't have the original computer that came with the car. The only two options I have is to register it out of state or get another Focus switch the tags and keep it for inspections.

I have a better dyno video I'll post up later. I also have some pics of the bottom of the car.

Wonder if you can get a new VIN number and register it as a custom vehicle?
