WOW! I'm amazed the bottom end is handling that kind of power production. Any blueprinting or balancing done to the lower end before these numbers or did you just turn up the wick and let it rip?

Either way, impressive stuff. I hope it stays together for you

100% the way it rolled out from ford in 2003. 71K on the clock. Original everything, except for a FC 65mm TB, not even the valve cover has been taken off.

Some low boost pulls this morning and a compression test confirm that everything is still A-OK!

Looks to me like you got the pick of the litter on this one Jared. Congrats on the numbers, can't wait to see what it'll make on a built engine and whatnot.

Yeah, Bryan and I determined it was built on a Wednesday!

The biggest reason I did not want to try for more was the fuel psi situation. Im gonna try one more thing before I pony up for a return style.

Why dont you just sump a duratec tank. you dont have to run another fuel cell in the back you can keep your stock sending unit so the fuel gauge works. if you want more info pm i did this to a guy from orlando or west palm cant remember it was about 8 months ago

He only spun the motor to about 6K if he pushed it to 7k I bet the rods would have let go. Seeing as power just starts to fall off arround 6k there is no reason to spin it higher.

RPM is a big factor.

The motor might be able to live for a while at this power level with a 6k rev limit.

Damn, didn't think 325 was capable on the Zetec. I know it's apples to oranges, but a guy pulled 701whp on a stock bottom end S2000...with stock trans. and diff. Seems like when you put on a big turbo with conservative timing, motors tend to hold up under boost fairly well.

Those were my thoughts exactly that is why the rev limit has been set at 6500 ever since the turbo has been on the car.

Nice job, finally someone who can tune the car well and have it make great numbers. I guess you guys were lucky, my stock Zetec broke the #3 rod at 300whp after beating the hell out of it for 500 miles. The stock SVT motor I had made 380whp and has been going strong for over 2k miles. I was afraid to push it anywhere over 400 though, but I know the SVT motor can definetly take it. Once again, really nice numbers.

Impressive...

How is the tranny holding up on the stock clutch? I'd think that would go fairly quickly too

The only issue with running lower than 3 bar of fuel pressure is that the hp potential of the injectors falls off. As long as you have sufficient injector (check out the RC fuel injector calculator) you don't necessarily need an extra psi of fuel pressure per pound of boost as most people suggest. I'll be running 350+whp on 83lb injectors at about 40psi of fuel pressure shortly, and won't even think twice about it.

The reason why you'd want to rev it above 6500 is that you want to drop into the next gear as it enters the highest level of powerband. The way my setup is, I go into each gear at the same load (the datalogging feature that most accurately captures torque) as I go out of the gear. Mine breathes easier (FR head, IM, mcnews FI cams) so the redline is 7400, but 6800-7000 should still breathe well. When I'm trying to go as fast as I can I'll be shifting at about 7200. Take a look at your datalogs sometime if you haven't already and you'll see what I mean.

^ you also have to be sure your pressure comp tables are correct if you run other than 40.
