^I stand corrected, but actually it isn't 2.675". I broke out the dial calipers and measured the O.D. of both.

PW non-BBK = 2.810"
PW BBK = 2.600"

This is great stuff guys. I'm interested to see what you guys do. I have put a bunch of thought into this topic and every time I do the math it adds up to crazy money. Pretty much agree with Mitch, light, balanced, polished, dry sump, and lots of money. And even all of that is nothing without the right tune. But I know you guys know that.

If mine revved just 500 more rpm in second I know I would not be forced to shift to third, for what normally is about 100ft in autox, or just choose to bounce it off the limiter, which is fuel cut off and makes the car just about stop in place.

Well, the honest answer is that my budget only allows for incremental upgrades.

I had originally planned on leaving this block on the shelf for a LONG time until I could buy a head to go with it, but for now I think I've decided that it'll go in with the stock head.

I'm glad this thread got a conversation going. Realistically 8k isn't even what I'm looking to rev to, but 7500 certainly is. I do have to work within some reasonable constraints, and using the block I already have built is one of them. My budget is the other.

are you going to race the car in question or is it just a track slut?
market the car if you are going to race it wheel to wheel or even in a timeattack setup to a few local machine shops and engine builders and see if they will sponsor you for the head work. you'd be surprised at the number of shops that would be interested for local or regional exposure at the track for what they do!

even if they just give you a break on the price, it's better than paying outright for something! Who knows, you might get lucky and find a shop willing to do all the work if you supply them with the parts and a big decal on the car!
