this is the best one out there if you have a manual tranny. It is all topped out and is the sickest kit out there

That kit is for a Zetec, 2000-2004. You need one for a Duratec. F2Focus is coming out with one soon.

Saw that but it doesnt seem like a sure thing. Plus he was saying it was going to cost more than $3k. If I am going to spend that much, I would rather just get the FS turbo kit. The appeal of a SC is that its usually cheaper.

Well, you asked whether there are any SC kits for the Duratec. The short answer is, no. Either you're waiting around for F2 to finish their kit, or you're going turbo.

Also, superchargers have other benefits over turbochargers than just price.

You could also look at Prochargers SC its around 3.5k or so but its got everything in it and can make around 300 hp, plus their compact they look like turbos but are really superchargers.

F2 has been working on their supercharger for a couple of YEARS now. I wouldn't wait around for it to come out anytime soon. Plus, they have said that the kit will first be engineered for the 08>. We might have to wait for another year or so after that.

^ Not to mention they want it to be CARB approved, which takes time, and adds cost. And F2's quality/service is questionable at best.

The Duratec's are difficult, not a whole lot of room in the engine bay, and not a whole lot of access to the serpentine system.

A roots blower could be made to fit though, if you want to spend the money on a one-off intake manifold, and pay for someone to add some pulleys to the system for the blower...However, roots on a fwd = fail. Useless torque, and powerband falloff at high rpms - example: cobalt ss/sc

You are correct we have been working on it for a little while...But we have worked on it on the Mazda 3 too much success and release dates are around the corner...all clearance issues resolved new brackets and new idlers as well. The Mazda 3 kit is good...

The reason for the 08 being first is because CARB normally wants to test the newest cars which are the cleanest cars. If they allow us to grandfather the older cars when we test then we are golden if not then we have another job at hand. We will have to wait and see....but we already have a test date for the Mazda 3 coming...

Sorry, for someone who wants to run 220+whp/tq on a fwd, roots = fail. I'm not a fan of boost falloff after wheelspin...leaves something significant to be desired.
