<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><hr>
DEARBORN, Mich., March 1, 2002 ? Ford announced today it will continue offering zero percent financing and customer cash up to $2,500 until Monday, April 8, on most 2002 Ford brand cars, trucks and SUVs.

Ford's current incentive program, scheduled to expire Tuesday, March 5, offers $1,000 to $2,500 customer cash or zero percent financing on 36-month contracts for most vehicles. Financing rates of 2.9 and 4.9 are available on 48- and 60-month contracts, respectively. Details of the new program will be released on Monday, March 4.

Ford also announced a new lease incentive, offering lease loyalty bonuses up to $1,500 on most 2002 Ford brand vehicles for returning lease customers.

Available Friday, March 1 through Monday, April 8, the new lease loyalty bonuses are in addition to current cash back rebates, up to $2,500, being offered on most vehicles. The additional lease loyalty bonuses of $1,000 for cars and $1,500 for trucks and SUVs are available on all models, except Thunderbird.

"Our incentives offer great value to both first-time Ford customers and repeat buyers," said Jim O'Connor, Ford Division president. "With a choice of zero percent financing, customer cash or lease loyalty bonuses, our program provides flexibility to meet differing customers' needs."

jaguar, Land Rover Set February Sales Records

DEARBORN, MI, March 1, 2002 - U.S. customers purchased or leased 268,397 cars and trucks from Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo, and Land Rover dealers in February, down 11.6 percent compared with a year ago.

Jaguar and Land Rover reported higher sales than a year ago as both brands benefited from the introduction of new products.

Jaguar reported record February sales of 5,511, up 105 percent compared with a year ago. February was the seventh month in a row that Jaguar set a sales record. Sales of the all-new, all-wheel drive X-TYPE sedan (3,583) paced Jaguar's record results.

Land Rover dealers also reported record February sales of 2,605, up 79 percent. February was the fourth month in a row of record sales at Land Rover. Sales of the all-new Freelander, which debuted in late November, were 956.

Volvo's February sales were 8,037, up 2.4 percent compared with a year ago. The increase was paced by the S60 mid-size sedan.

February sales for the company's domestic brands were lower than a year ago: Ford sales declined 11 percent, Mercury sales declined 28 percent, and Lincoln sales declined 32 percent. Lower sales to fleet customers adversely affected the results at Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln. In February, fleet sales for the domestic brands were 29 percent lower than a year ago.

Also, the company confirmed its first quarter North American production plan at 1.05 million vehicles and announced its intention to produce 1.18 million vehicles in the second quarter. In 2001, the company produced 1.078 million vehicles in the first quarter and 1.13 million vehicles in the second quarter. In addition, the company reaffirmed its breakeven earnings guidance for the full year.

Did it count for SVT Cobras and Lightnings at the time? If they weren't excluded, neither will the Focus.

From what I heard, all the SVT models, Thunderbirds, and Escapes were excluded from the 0% deal. My Dad just picked up a 02 Ranger and got a whopping 6500 bucks off after all the rebates and my A-plan. Not a bad deal

of course it won't count, you don't need an incentive to buy a special limited edition car. the reason for the 0% is to intice the average car buyer that would otherwise not buy a ford into buying one. they won't apply it to SVT's and the such because the average car buyer is not really that interested in the car. not to say the average buyer wouldn't want one, but they don't need an incentive to buy it, the car is incentive enough. sorry, i don't know if that made sense, but i couldn't think of how to put my thought into words... Yea but i would still love to have 0% financing or a good rebate to go along with my SVT.

Half of ur thinking is pretty much right Bmore hehe. Its more greed than enticing. They know they can sell thunderbirds and SVT's without any incentives, thats pretty much why they're usually not included.

ya gotta hate exclusions...
