    Default Previously certified SVT dealerships

As you know, there are a number of Ford dealerships that are certified to work on the full line of SVT vehicles, and quite a few that were certified to work on the SVT Focus specifically and no longer advertise this fact. These dealerships are usually the best ones to go to when you have trouble with your SVT Focus. There's a good chance the certified mechanics are still there, so this thread should serve as a good resource to find a dealer near you. Of course there are always the few deviants, but if you feel you've had a good experience with knowledgeable techs at one of these dealers, please post the name of the place, the address and phone number, and whatever good story you have to share. I'll update the list in this first post.

There are far too many stories about bad experiences. It's time to find out who the good ones are!

IIRC, The SVT Dealerships were the only ones authorized to SELL the SVT line. But any dealership could work on them. Ford added SVT Focus dealers because they needed more outlets for the slow-selling SVTF.

I had to drive close to an hour to buy my car (pre SVT Focus dealer era). Within the first year the ECU flashes were coming out and I went to my neighborhood Ford shop (in Georgia). They had zero problem doing the work. A few years later (in California), my DSI clip was broken so I drove extra far to the nearest SVT Dealer because I thought they would be more familiar, right? Especially given how widespread that problem was, right? They had zero clue what I was talking about. Deer-in-the-headlights. I literally had to make up some BS symptoms because telling them that something was broken wasn't enough to take it in. That's when I knew there was no difference in the actual skill set of these dealers. SVT dealers paid a membership fee to Ford for the privilege of carrying the exclusive products (as explained to me by the sales manager when I was haggling him on the price of a car that had arrived on his lot two hours earlier...)

5 year in a row Presidents Award Winner for Cust service. We have it all and will take care of all your needs.

You can either call Darren Jackson. He runs the SVT team here. Or call me Michael Marshall and we can get you taken care of. Both of us are service advisors there

Have you had any good experiences with either of them?

I changed the thread description a bit; rather than listing all the SVT-certified dealers, just list any Ford dealer that you've had a good experience bringing your SVTf to.

Regarding Wayne Ford: I've heard of a few people having rough experiences with them bringing their non-SVT Focuses there a couple years ago, but I've brought my SVTf there probably 3 times now and they've always been great.

in Austin Tx, i would recommend Covert Ford at Research Blvd. I havent had any problems with them and they give excellent service! Maxwell Ford SUCKS! don't even try sending your car in coz they did a crappy transmission job on my car! they just need to change the clutch and they messed up my starter! (HOW?) the tech put only 3 bolts on my tranny and 1 bolt on my starter... well long story short Maxwell Ford is full of *h*t! so avoid that STEALER!

I don't know what experiences other Seattle-area SVTF owners have had, but I've found the supposedly SVT-certified Ford dealers in this area (I've tried three) to be either impossible to reach to schedule an appointment (Kirkland Ford), OK but slow and too far away (Bickford Ford), and friendly but seemingly unaware of the SVTF being anything but a garden-variety ZX3 (Pierre Ford). I'm tired of having to BEG these service departments to use the correct viscosity oil and having to readjust the tire pressures after they either grossly overinflate (36 psi) or underflate (28 psi) all four tires equally. Apparently they can't read manuals or the stickers on the doorjam.

Love the car to death even after four years, but if I had to do it all over again, I think the bad service experience would have driven me to buy something else. Oh, and I have NEVER received any of the supposed SVT service benefits. If you ask them about it, they stare at you like you just crapped in their office.

There have been lots of stories like yours, ksvtguy. I'm hoping this thread can help alleviate that problem. Post in the Team Northwest forum and see if you can find anyone who's had a good experience. http://forums.focaljet.com/team-focaljet-northwest/

this definately has the potential to be a good thread.

like i was saying, my buddy works at wayne ford, and he seems to like it but i had a not so great experience there a few years ago with my mustang and the service manager Rich, which i dont really blame him but he wouldnt help me after they screwed me. I had a problem with the valve train(the valve springs specifically) on my stock 98 heads where they were weak and caused a lot of valve float and the rocker arms kept popping out from under the cams. I was 17 and didnt know much about the car but he charged me $9XX for some bull**** work which included popping them back in(not actually fixing the problem) a tune up(new plugs only) and a new key. RIP OFF. The next week the problem happened again and i went back and he refused to fix the car. So i had it towed home and ordered brand new PI style heads from Randy from Liberty Ford(awesome guy) and manifold, assembled brand new and installed everything myself at home. Drove the car over to Wayne Ford a week later and told/showed him i fixed it myself and he would no longer be seeing business from me or getting recommendations for service to anyone else because he completely overcharged me for the minimal work he did and never even attempted to make right or fix the car when he said he took care of the problem the first time. Damn.....the cars came a long way since then. I dont trust anyone to work on any of my cars at all anymore. The only work i wont do myself is dyno tuning or rear gear setup.

I dont know if Evergreen Ford here in Seattle is or not. But that is where I bought my car. They seemed to know what they were doing when I took it in to have the Audiophile looked the day after I bought it. They did tell me it was a known issue and that it would cost like $600 to fix, at which point I laughed at them.

I had a really good experance with their service department and with the guy that sold me that car, but the finace guy was kind of a jerk.
