08 automatic focus turbocharged??? - The Ford Focus Forum

Has anyone turbocharged an automatic 08 focus? If so, how much power are you getting or is it even worth the money?

There have been a couple D23 and D20 automatic focuses that have the FSWerks turbo kit installed. You just need to search the forums for more details.

I spoke to Randy about this and it seems like it's safe to run the Stage1 kit and the Stage2 kit, but the Stage2 must be lowered to 9psi IIRC. I would still feel uneasy about running any turbo on the stock tranny since I haven't really had the opportunity to talk to some guys who did this.

I would love to get a Lentech tranny in conjunction with a FSWerks turbo setup, but that's a lot of cash.

I sent him a PM a few days ago, no response yet.
I noticed he doesn't have too many posts on here so he might not be too active. I hope he does respond, I'm dying for some feedback from guys with stock trannies running turbos.

I have FS stage two with lentech trans it is a blast to drive my car is 2006 zx4

Yeah, I wish I could afford the Lentech tranny and turbo combination.

We also have a few guys that are running our kit with just torque converter upgrades. Might want to hit them up to see how that's panning out, too. I'm trying to remember who...I'll post when the names come to me if they don't post themselves.

Yeah, that's something I definitely thought of.. Lentech sells torque converters for about 700 bucks IIRC.. Sure beats spending about 3000 bucks. Do you know if just upgrading the valve body is enough? I've been trying to contact Lentech via e-mail about some stuff but they haven't responded.. I guess they are busy or have a full inbox lol.

Thanks guys for all the post. I've been really busy since I'm in the Army and we are about to deploy to Afghanistan this coming year. I've talked to FS and they said they wont sell a stage 1 for the 08 or 09 focus. I would have to buy a stage 2 and run it at 8 lbs. I didn't know that anyone sold a torque converter for an auto, but I guess thats good news. I guess I could get it and run 8 and then upgrade the tranny later to get more boost. Hell, since I will be down range I'll be making some good money. If anyone hears anything else please let me know.

The '08+ Auto trans has significant more beef than that of old.

I would feel very confident running the stage 2 kit w/ 9psi w/ Randos programming.
