Im saving up for one. I was hoping the high end of the price would be just under 200. I look forward to some actual pics of the piece.

Hey: Since you are here...Not in a big rush to install this since my stock one is still leak-free, but just wondering when you figure to ship your first batch of these. Any ETA from your fab vendor?

Fab vendor? What is that?

Our original estimate for us to manufacture these is 2-4 weeks from placing your order. Looks like tooling up may take a bit longer, but I am hopeful that we can stay close to that estimate.

I was referring to the subcontractor that would be fabricating/making your part. I did not realize you were making the part in house. I thought you were sending it out for some reason. Maybe the tooling. Thanks.

I think Brian was just curious about the statement. I don't think I have ever heard it called a Fab Vendor. Its all good though

So how is the seal against the engine? Does this part seal up better than the stock thermostat against the engine? Does it seal tight enough 2 block out leaking oil coming from the valve cover(the reason the stock t-stat gets damaged)? I just replaced mine a couple days ago with a FORD housing but don't wanna deal with this problem again. I might just buy one of these so I'll b worry-free about the focus thermostat housing issue.

Looks like a great product. Any way you can post a photo of the real deal instead of a render?

Also, how will this affect the coolant, if at all? Any corrosion?

Oh yes..any warranty?

Im assuming its aluminum just like the head on your car so i cannot see any difference in how coolant will affect it and vise-a-vers-a

What sort of production/ship date am I looking at? I ordered a little over 4 weeks ago. No rush, just looking for an approximate timeframe.

So if this is made of aluminum..will it expand enough when it gets hot where the o-rings are to make it leak?? Has anyone put a new one on and used atv sealant along with the o-rings??

I dont think that the coolant will get nearly hot enough to expand the aluminum, at least endough to make any difference.

Dads, I'm no engineer but I would think that an aluminum head and an aluminum housing is a much better pairing than alu/plastic (expansion-wise). O-rings are supposed to compensate for different expansion rates because they should roll between the materials and maintain their seal, unlike a gasket which experiences shear when two surfaces expand differently. If you have to use ATV to fix an o-ring leak, there is something wrong. It might be o-ring deterioration, or the wrong size, or a bad design (asking an o-ring to do something it can't).

Well, I doubt anyone has "put a new one on" (at least not a production version) since these guys are still sorting out actually getting them made and sent to the initial purchasers AFAICT.

I paid for my 6 or 7 weeks ago and all I know is what's been posted in these couple of threads. At this point I've still got time to wait but it would be nice to know what's going on.

We posted this in the New-products section. I thought I had posted it here too. Sorry about that.

Fittings are underway, while we are checking the gasketing relief design for the last time before the thermostat bodies are made.

Thanks. I think we understand the situation and have seen the other posting. We were just wondering about the specifics of this part:

Jason has been out sick since I posted the last update.

Without his input on the machining, a rough estimate looks to be the 1st/2nd week of June for shipping out the first batch of housings.

I believe we should be finished with the fittings by the end of this month and will complete the bodies shortly thereafter.

Thank you all for your patience,
Brian

This is taking so long looks like i'm gonna have to talk to Steve...i think all i need is the o-rings...mine is starting to look wet around a plug on the bottom...unless it is common cracking the housing taking the plug out.....

Update: Our machinery isn't setup here at the new shop yet. So we have outsourced the body production to make progress with them. Spoke with the outsourced shop yesterday, they need 2 weeks on their end before they ship to us. So we are looking at shipment in mid-July.

Drop me a PM if anyone else wants to get in on the first batch!
There are still a few more available in the first run.

Please let me know whether you want the 180deg or stock thermostat.
This is a universal piece for both Zetec and SVT motors.

We are now accepting credit card payments by phone, give us a call at 508.659.4466.

Cheers,
Brian
