Default iPod mount options?

So far, I've searched around quite a bit and found a lot, just having a hard time seeing pictures of very many ACTUALLY in Focus'

Anyone know of a nice one that:
a) hides the wires
b) swivels to be controlled by driver and passenger

Thanks in advance guys.

Hiding the wire for the aux cable might be a little challenge, but the charging wire is hidden in the gooseneck.

you can pick them up cheap on ebay. i just bought one for my nano for under $20 shipped.

thanks for the help guys. I have the connection setup, going AUX to an aftermarket headunit. I just can't figure out where I want to put the iPod. I like the setup you have Ataru, just doesn't give the passenger any option to choose the tunes. When I'm roadtrippin, I love having my girlfriend or roomate DJ the whole trip

i just routed the wire the easy way around the side of the glove box. or you could drill a small hole going into it. If your going aftermarket then you will more than likely have control of the ipod from the HU itself like i do. so i just plug mine in, toss it in the glove box and go (actually its an old ipod with a bad battery so it never leaves the car except to get sync'd). and the best part is...would be thieves don't see an easy opportunity because its hidden away!

Get an iPod holder kind of like this:

and mount it in front of the shifter, where I have my XM radio right now. Then either of you can reach it.....and you can route the wires down between the console and the shifter boot like I did:

Plus you can get an iPod cable like mine and not need to worry about an audio output from the aux jack since it would come out of the bottom of the iPod. All you would need is an adapter to convert the RCA plugs into the aux plug.

actually, infront of the shifter is EXACTLY where I wanted it, I just didn't know if it'd interfere too much. do you think that iGrip would be too large for an area that small? (that's what she said)

I just found that one quickly. There's another mount that I think would work better. Let me see if I can find it.

Which iPod do you have?

Okay........this:

attached to this:

would probably work well without sticking out as far as the other one I posted.

And if you wanted a LOT of slack on the iPod cable, you could take the cup holder insert out of the passenger side cupholder, cut a decent size hole in the bottom of that cupholder, and run your iPod cable through there.

When you are not using your iPod, you could easily drop the cable back into that hole and cover it up with the cupholder insert..........and nothing would be seen.

You could do something totally custom. I did for my Sirius mount. I wont cross post, but do a search with my screen name. Heres a pic on how it came out...

I actually really really really dig that man. Seriously, thanks a lot for seeking that out, I think you've solved my dilemma completely.

Looking at the mount, it looks like it may even be best mounted here:

I have the same Dave Navone cable you have Ataru... love it. I should have the cable exiting from the same location it is now (from under the center console, around the cup holders... the iPod sits under the ebrake right now). Should keep the same slack it has now so the woman can keep the iPod on her lap as we drive.

Noice

I do dig that with the Sirus, the iPod is just much less unassuming, and would probably block the vent. Not a huge deal, but I want the iPod out of the way (I put extra effort into OEM look)

Then get this mount instead:

It would probably work better in that location.

i made my own ipod mount that hung off of my power outlet...i ran the charging cable plug to hold it up....

granted its not really what you were looking for, and i'm running an FM transmitter...
but i'm thinking it might spark and idea for you or something....

you could always just stash it in the glovebox and make your passenger grab it out of there to dj if you want too ;-)

Right off to the side... swivels, around the location I liked the cable exiting, and it seems to have promise to have a really solid grip on the iPod
