There's a little sensor in the door tumbler that tells the alarm that you're unlocking the door with the ignition key, instead of a thief who just broke a window. That signal is what disarms it. When installing an aftermarket alarm on a vehicle equipped like yours, the installer would have to hook that wire up to the aftermarket system so it can tell the OEM alarm to not trigger itself when you open the door. |
