Question Power is not being cut to the power outlet

I'm not sure if this is in the right section...
Basically my battery was completely discharging if the car was sitting for 1 week.

Today I hunted down the problem and turns out that the relay or whatever cuts the power to the power outlet/cig lighter in like 15-25 min is not working. I had my PIE AUX adapter connected to the power outlet wires and it was draining the battery.

Does anybody know what cuts the power to the power outlet, where it is, and how to replace it?
    Thanks!

As far as i know it is wired for constant power. The only way to shut it off is to rewire it to an ignition signal.

That outlet is wired to be on constant on - so it's no failure. Just unplug what is plugged in if you're going to leave the car for a while.
I used to have a focus like you. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

rewire your pie thing... mmmm pie...

Seriously though, if you've tapped the wires to the cigarette lighter without checking to see if it turns on and off with the car, lesson learned. Try using the wire that is ignition switched going to the HU

It's not constant on. I clearly remember over the past years I would forget to turn off my XM receiver and I would come back an hour later and it is off, that is until I open the door.

while it's entirely possible that your focus is different than any other focus ever made, I rather doubt it

More than likely it was something built into the XM receiver that automatically shut it off.

12v plug is constant. XM more than likely had a auto off like what someone previously said.

Which head unit do you have? You can splice into the power wire that is only on when the radio is on.
