Default SVT HVAC swap.. how to with pics

Before...

SVT HVAC...

Remove radio, ash tray/coin tray and unscrew the four bolts with a 7mm socket.

CAREFULLY pop off the knobs, if they don't come off, use some pliers covered in an old sock so the teeth don't mar the knob. Unplug all the electrical stuff and unscrew the controls from the back of the HVAC.

Unscrew the stock HVAC and replace with SVT HVAC. Then reverse the entire process, plugging and screwing everything back in.

REMEMBER!!! When screwing them back in, be careful not to strip the holes, try to get them in the threads by reversing the screw until it clicks in the hole, then screw it in.

Finished product...

Took about 30 minutes.

I dig the black on silver look too, maybe consider black billet knobs? Don't tell anyone I referred you , but FC makes nice ones. You can get them w/ or w/o the logo.

on the head unit, the security key looks like it's held in with tape, instead of the clip.

also, did you consider painting the stock stereo bezel black, to contrast the guages? the two shades of silver really kind of ... argues with itself. or paint it gunmetal grey, that would be pretty trick.

COOL! did you custom build that, or was it a kit for the focus?

Its weird seeing a 110v outlet right on the dash of a car but it looks pretty sweet

Oh yeah, long story, the little clip that holds it in broke off. I treid getting it fixed with my Ford dealer, but they don't fix the radios under warrenty, they go through an independant dealer.

So I called them and they had no idea what I was talking about. So I called Ford back and they gave me a contact name to call back on.

I call the independant guys back and give them the contact name, they guy answers and still has no idea what I'm talking about. He has no idea why a Ford dealer would give me their number, they just fix radios...

I tell them my little "pen" is broken, I need a new one and he tells me to call my dealer and have it fixed under warrenty.

I got so angry that I just gave up and taped the bastard in, I'll do a better job later, it's just a quick fix.

*******
As for the radio bezel, It has the Mach logo on it so I don't want to change it. It's limited.

*******
As for my power outlet mod, there is a kit a guy was selling, there are also kits you can buy from other members with a guage there instead.
