Default Rear Seat Delete

Im am trying to get the side seatbelt brackets unbolted so i can remove the backrest of the rear seat. The reason why i have to do that is so i can unloop the elastic holder for the seat belt.

My problem is that these bolts are not budging at all. Is there any secrets or trick of the trade to get stubborn bolts to move?

Thanks for any advice.

you need a really big breaker bar or air impact.
I broke 2 T-50 or T-55 hex sockets trying to remove them

Actually just an hour ago, i used a bar to undo one of them. And my god, i never loved leverage so much. The last few i borrowed a a very power air. Worked well with pb blaster.

Oh, and i found a few goodies under the carpet for some reason:
-A stubby Antenna
-~$6.00 in change
-Giftcard for Dick's sporting goods woth $3.50

All ends well. =]

Anyone know how much the rear seat weighs? I have been thinking about removing mine. I have a sheet of 1/2 in MDF, with a peice to fill in the spot, will it weigh the same? Any recomendations on what to use for a filler peice?

I believe like 60lbs, could be wrong. I just took mine out and know that the backs of the seats are pretty heavy. I was surprised. Yeah the bolts are in tight. Had to use a breaker bar and ended up breaking one bolt.

Not sure how accurate my scale is but, I weighed everything bolts and all and it was about 56 lbs. Raised the back end up 1/4 inch. I like it, just needs a Massive rear bar!!!

I removed my seats and all plastic trim and i never had any problems with any of the bolts holding in all the brackets and belts and all i used was a 3/8 ratchet actually doing it at night with only a flashlight.

i just beat mine with a hammer then did my best to get mine out!
i kept rounding out heads cause i'd pull pull pull and they wouldnt move. so i put a new head in there and whacked it a few times then after five minutes of twisting and pulling they broke loose

Im not sure why yall are having so much trouble removing yalls rear seat? It really only took a little effort to remove mine. 10 minutes at the most, 55 torx socket and a rachet. I it probably took less time to make a delete piece and came out amazing, poster board backing, cardboard, and OEM grey carpet.

yeah mine was easy too. no need for breaker bar or anything. just a ratchet and some muscle but it did snap a few teeth off the torx bit.

but why do you need to replace the seat with another home made piece and carpet? mine had some black carpet stuff under there already from the factory. doesnt look great but its good enough. and anything you put there starts adding weight, defeating the purpose of removing the seats. (which only save about 20kg which isnt much considering the car is 1200kg)

I have an 06, it has black carpet that stops at the front corner of the the seat area, then turns into bare floor. That's why I made a piece to fill it in. Plus the delete piece I made only weighs 2 lbs, I removed about 56 lbs worth of seat, so inturn I still shaved over 50 lbs of weight. I post pics of it tonight when I get off work to show you what I mean.
