i cant stand my 01 seats anymore. they hurt my back when i drive it on wkends. they feel worse since i dont drive it everyday and my work van seats are far superior. svt seats are near impossible and now dated/worn. what alternatives are out there for some1 who just wants a comfortable seat and is willing to change out just the driver's unit to do so. dont need bags, heat, etc. just a damn seat. thx.

I love my Sparco Pro2000. But its a fixed back.
I had a set of Corbeau Legacy's and they were amazing! I'd recommend looking into a reclinable Corbeau.

where did he say they were?
![]() Fixed back seats can be comfortable but you have to try a bunch to find the one that has the right back angle for you. you can add extra padding where it's needed like under the thigh or lumbar or even kidney pads, they are easy to fit with an inflateable lumbar bag so you can adjust that easily. once you find a seat you like it can take a little fiddling to get the seat angle right in the car. all that said, i have a Sparco Evo2 in my Silver focus and drove down to cali and back with it in a little over a week and never had a problem and thought it was amazing. before that i hard corbeau forza's and couldn't wait to get out of them every time i sat in them! i've sat in a lot of seats and Corbeau's rate really low on my list. they are a price point seat and if you've ever sat in a high end seat you will know how truly uncomfortable they are. they are still a noted step up from stock focus seats though.... Sparco makes some really comfortable seats and so does Recaro... they cost a fair swack more than a corbeau or similar but the money is worth it when you get into the right seat for you. i don't think they make it anymore but iirc the Trend Orthopedic was the most comfortable seat i have ever placed my ass in and even in the ugly fabric pattern it came in, if i spend serious time driving every day, i'd spend the extra cake and at least put one in for me! Ebay and craigslist are your friend though.... a buddy of mine picked up a PAIR of Recaro PP's for $700 in near mint condition! that's about the same price as one new or a pair of crappy Corbeau's! my one serious suggestion is stay away from wire frame seats of any kind! they wont be comfortable and cause lots of pressure points and support you like a crack-head mother!

I never said anything about a race seat at all. The OP is not looking for a 'race' seat anyway. Just something comfortable to replace his stock seats...

I'm with you, I'm about to take my car to an upholsterer to have them put padding where I want it.

I will have to do something with our frint seats soon. Mine is on it's way out again ... will be the second seat since 2006 when the car was purchased. Hers is too wide in the ass .. She slides around wayyyy too much during spirited driving manuevers.
So we know how ya feel bro.

I hate the seats in my ZTS, they have no side support, and they are leather. Im a skinny dude, so I slide all over the place during spirited driving.

off road suspension seats are the best my behind has ever sat in.
Granted, they are a little wider than a focus bucket, but its worth it.
