Camber kit and Koni's - Focaljet

I remember somewhere along the way someone saying that your kit will not fit on the Koni's without some type of modification.

Is this correct?

I checked my old note and to be honest I do not rember what Koni's I looked at. What spring perch do you use and will a production top bearing and nut go on your unit

I don't remember which perch is used. I will have to check on that.

I think the nut is different on the top. Threads are different or something. JohnB had a set that he had posted that he had to get helicoiled or something.

I have koni yellow adjustables. I just got a set of race plates from Leo not too long ago. I havent yet put them on, but they should just bolt right on.
Koni yellows fit a production/stock strut mount. My only concern is that the strut end has a different thread and size over stock damper. But that remains to be seen yet...i should be starting the swap project this weekend, so I will post my findings...

The thread on the the sturt is what I was thinking that JohnB had a problem with.

That was where the Helicoil note came in at and Leo had posted that he was going to work on some kind of fix for it. I will search it later tonight and see what I can find.

Let me know what the thread size and pitch are. I will be in Daytona until Sunday so if I can not acess the web down there I will respond on Sunday or Monday.

I find this a wee bit confusing, because I just compared the thread pitch between a pair of Konis and a pair of brand new SVT struts, and found them to be the same.

(edited) Wrong application, was thinking coil-overs, not struts. Sorry

BTW: Leo, my set up seems to be working great. The only change I had to make was to install some washers on top of the plate to keep from moving. The aluminum was too soft to hold the nuts tight... DUH! Otherwise, my only change will be to replace the aluminum spacer I fab'd on the tower to steel and weld into place.

Im a bit confused by your pic. You have the race plates above the strut tower, where all the instalation pics show them mounted from below. Am I missisng something here?

No you're not missing anything, I'm just running my own set-up. The kit was originally installed as the directions showed, but I made some changes in components and tried something different. I'm now running coil-overs instead of the Multimatic struts.

The kit should be installed the way that Leo shows. I had a lot of tower mods to do that I wouldn't recommend for the street. I also had to fab up a spacer plate and special bolts for it to work.

Leo's way is the correct way!

I thought so, but Leos plates are so pretty, I hate the idea of having to hide them in the strut tower. Leo...maybe you can offer an annodized aluminum cover plate that goes over the top of the strut tower & is held down by the 3 mount bolts. Id sport a little advertizing for such a nicely designed piece.
