I'm getting the kit installed on my engine build from massive at the end of the month. I won't be able to tell you if a retune is needed as I am getting the car dyno tuned anyway as I am putting their big boost kit on. However, I will let you know if it solves my idle issues when I get it back = )

Will this kit change emissions? I'm in CA. Have to test in 3 months.

It'd be really nice if I could buy this kit so my car wouldn't die when warming up on cold mornings...

Kinda off-topic, but what comes in the PWSC "winterizer" kit you PM'd me about K STYLEZ? I'm trying to figure out what I'll need to get when I get the car I'm buying.

I asked COSDEVSVT whether he had experienced any of the problems mentioned here on his PWSC SVT Focus and whether this mod would be useful.
He suggested trying the troubleshooting procedure at the end of the instruction manual. I figure to try that when the car goes in for some winter prep. You'll find it on the last page of the manual. He said that he did it and has had no problems. I'm hoping it does the trick as I'm not inclined to get mine retuned at this point. |

No the IAC is too slow to respond. Many times the IAC can't open quickly enough as the engine is spinning down towards idle speed. The result is the engine stalls or it bogs very low (like 300 RPM) and stumbles back up to idle. This effect is even more pronounced with the additional load of air conditioning placed on the engine. So for a lot of PW guys the cars runs OK with AC off but with AC on the thing stalls all the time as you approach a stop unless you heel/toe the idle up as you're braking.

Well, its on the car, however, I haven't gotten a chance to test it out as we can't tune the car right now (long story). Should have more on it tomorrow and hopefully I will be picking up the car Tuesday or Wednesday. I do have this update however... This is what it looks like (next to my 60lb injectors): ![]()
