Default Massive Dogbone-

Hey thanks for the dogbone, that thing has Massive bushings . Nice and stout. It definately improved my shifting, no more stutter after shifting, just solid shifts.

Maybe it's just me.

Its a steel mount versus the mostly aluminum stockers. The aluminum ones break quite often on most higher torque boosted vehicles.

Dude this thing is way more solid than the stocker. Not only are the bushings poly but the dogbone is some hardcore steel, and weighs alot more than the aluminum stock piece.

Um, the stocker in my 2000 ZTS was steel. So is the one from my 06 ST. This pic looks EXACTLY like both of them. Even has numbers cast in the same location in the recess, looks like the numbers on the small end were ground off before painting.

None of the early cars had steel mounts. We've replaced literally hundreds of them.

Not trying to knock you or your product here. Looks like a good value w/ some very nice bushings. But I will post pics tonight so you can see what I mean. I would put down $20 on that being a stock mount frame.

My '05 ST came with a steel mount also. Looks identical to the one Massive is selling.

I'd like to point out an issue regarding the orientation of the large bushing. In the pic it is installed exactly the way the directions specify in the Energy Suspension bushing package. However, when I performed my own bushing swap I realized that the directions were infact flawed. The bushing needs to be rotated 180 degrees so that the flat spot on the rim of the bushing faces the small end of the mount. This way, the bushing conforms propperly to the frame of the car.

So, can you seriously state that yours is not a stock mount with black Energy suspension bushings? This is my stocker. Pretty obvious. Now, what you are selling is a good combo at a fair price. My objection is the claim that this is a Massive mount, along with the "Unbreakable" claim. I know, for a fact, that this mount frame has been broken by quite a few people. Many of them used the same type of bushings. Again, good product at a fair price. Just sell it for what it really is without the hype. That is, unless-- are you actually going to give a lifetime warranty to match the "Unbreakable"?

00 - 04 Mounts were all aluminum. And they break very easily.

We offer a ready to go kit using the steel version. Saves the pain of having to press bushings and is rock solid.

Thank you. I'll get out of your hair now. I was just picturing some guy just starting to mod buying this, pulling out the stocker, and freaking out thinking he got ripped off.

I can say that, while the aluminum mount might break, I have a very hard time imagining the steel one that came on my ST ever breaking, even under highly abusive conditions. Probably more likely that you'd ruin the urethane bushing first.

Having said that, the steel version is like, 900,000lbs heavier then the aluminum version. Kinda reminds me of that oil commercial with the cars dragging boat ankers.

This may be true, but I have one question: How the HELL did you get the bushing past the bulge in the K-member???? I tried, failed, and spun it around for easier installation.

PS Karl have you ever put one of these, or any rear mount I guess, on an atx? I cannot stand the vibrations at stoplights, and ive only had it in for 2 days. It seriously gives me a headache...reminds me of a hooptie with 15" subs playing a high note...constantly... Changing "Drive idle speed" in my xcal tune only bumps up the engine speed while the car is in motion with the throttle closed, not while its stopped.

no matter what upgraded dogbone you get, if it is stiffer and does its job, you are gonna get the vibration. only cure is more cowbell! j/k, only thing to do is raise the idle like you say

Now I have a question to you: How do you get a press under the car

Of course I used a press to get the bushings in, der...

But my original question related to installation on the vehicle.

Changing the idle with the xcal doesnt change the idle, now I am very specific about this situation, IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AND AT A STOP. If you are in drive and rolling, THAT is when the xcal makes a diference in idle. But as soon as I stop, the roms drop to some insanely low number (no tach...)

That's a good question. I installed the bushi
