Default Rear motor mount problem

well, i got my rear motor mount in today from massive, and as i was trying to get it to fit in, it just wont fit! I dont know much about the mounts but the rubber on the sides of it would not slide into the transmission part of it.

i have a 2006 zx3.

am i doing something wrong or did i just buy something that just wont fit?

there's really no room to jam these in. I tried for a good 30 min. jacked up the trans, let it down, i've just about tried everything i could.

I'm kind of pissed off at it, but it's really no big deal to take out the OEM one when i get a mount that fits

They are a tight fit, but it can be installed with proper tools. You simply need to use a pry bar to and some muscle. They are a tight fit for a reason. This keeps away the sloppyness. Give us a call monday and we can help.

I took another stab at getting the mount back on tonite, and I finally got it to slide into place. I took it for a drive and man there seems to be no movement and no clunks when i shift it hard. Def a big improvement!

also, i found a really good way to doit, the reason it is such a tight fit, is the side that is on the passenger side of the bracket, has a perfect pressure fit washer in it, good way to get it loose, is take your bolt that goes in there once your have the mount out, and screw it in, and keep screwing until the washer pops out, take the bolt back out, then take a rubber mallet, and tap it into place about 1/16th of an inch, then take the bvolt again, and screw it in again, just not as far as it was previously, reinstall motor mount from there, and presto, easy way around ford engineering. with a lot less headache.
