Massive and a team of skilled engineers has invested many hours over the last 1.5 years developing a truly unique and exceptionally superlative cylinder head option for the Ford Focus engines.

We think you will find not only a genuinely higher lever of performance, but also the finest of components, exclusive process', but also competitive pricing.

As of June 6 2008, we are releasing the first of an entire new line of breakthrough performance heads. Machined locally utilizing a Millport CNC 5 Axis Mill with TRT 32-100 Tilt table, profiles are programmed and digitized using MasterCam X2.

Look for our Duratec cylinder head to be ready for presentation within the month. In the pipeline is our series of GM LS-1 and Ford 3V modular offerings.

The Zetec heads (as will most of our other offerings) will be available in 2 distinct flavors - The Ultimate head using enlarged valves and high rate springs, and the Optimized head equipped with OE valves and springs. This will provide less expensive options as well as all out solutions.



Here is the description on our Zetec Ultimate Head:

ZETEC POWER UNLEASHED!

Massive has created the worlds TOP FLOWING ZETEC CYLINDER HEAD.

5 Axis CNC machined for the best in consistency and flow!

In our quest for power superiority, an OE head was flow tested on a Superflow SF-600 flow bench at 28” of water to determine base line flow numbers. After the initial flow test the heads are ported by hand to develop a working port shape and volume. The head is then reflowed after hand porting to verify the increase in flow. At that point, they are reverse engineered using 5-axis digitizing to acquire the port shape of the finished port. This makes for the greatest possible flow capacity and consistency.
Heads begin as production cores which are fully disassembled and washed. The heads are then glass bead blasted clean to remove any rust or scale. They are then CNC machined using 5-axis simultaneous machining. All ports and chambers are machined then hand finished to blend out any unwanted tool marks. All valve guides are honed to size and a multi-angle valve job is cut into the head. The valve job is cut using Newen single carbide insert style cutters of varying profiles. The valve job is lapped in then blended to the finished port and chamber. The heads are then surfaced to the customers needs and reflowed again to confirm that the finished product performs as expected. Outflows ANY production Zetec head without sacrificing velocity. Substantial chamber modification (most fimrs dont touch the chamber!) for superior flow dynamics and greater resistance towards detonation. Genuine Eibach EVS high rate valve springs (good to .450" Lift). Custom made Undercut SI brand stainless steel valves. This undercutting, in addition to reducing the valve weight (which provides benefits in opening rate and RPM limits), the radius of the head is such that is significantly improves air/fuel flow. Fully swirl polished. Chromed stems and Stellite tips.
Going for big NA horsepower? Massive offers your choice of standard(.005"-.010" for straightness) or HIGH COMPRESSION state(.045" mill)for serious increases in forward thrust!!!



The Ultimate Head is $1348 and the Optimized Head is $1068. They will require a core charge of $300.

Call me a newb, but I have never looked into a new head for a motor.... Is this something you can put on a stock motor, with no tuning and see an increase in power? How is it with gas mileage?

Yes, you could probably drop it on without tuning and see gains. I'd still recommend a custom tune to utilize it best. Gas mileage shouldnt be effected much at all.

The amazing thing with the Zetec heads is that our Optimized heads with stock valves blows away the FR head with big valves... Pretty phenomenal results.

48 more CFM on the intake side and 25 on the exhaust over the FR head is substantial.

Thats like, oh, 25% more flow intake side... Pretty astounding.

We will be back to back dyno testing a bolt on Zetec soon.

It would bolt on. But naturally you'd have to then run a regular zetec style induction setup.

Karl, I am seriously thinking of buying the ultimate head on Monday( Have to wait for Payday). I will have enough for the head and some other things I need from you(ie fp gauge, af gauge, egt gauge, cam gears, and bolts).

Anyways, now some questions I have for you:
1. Does this head come with a head gasket?
2. Does it come with head bolts?
3. Does it come with a return shipping label for the core?
4. Any break for a guy who is buying the head, turbo, everything else and having it dyno tuned by you? ( You don't have to answer this one, just thought I would throw it out there or you can PM me an answer)

Few questions:

I have a ZX2. Naturally, the VCT is on the exhaust cam, along with the cam position sensor. I plan on deleting VCT anyhow but what problems would the CPS bring up? Coulds my SCT tune be changed for it?

I know the focus head will bolt on, its just those few questions. Also, would you accept a ZX2 zetec head as core, or could I just ship one to you to have the port work done on instead so I dont have to mess with the CPS?


Also, what cams would you reccomend for a turbo setup? I only plan on around 225-250 whp for now but will be building further to eventually get into the mid 300 whp range.
