Default Aftermarket for Mazda 3

Alright, to attempt to tidy things up and make it a little more concise, I'd appreciate it if people who know of aftermarket parts could PM me with either a MANUFACTURER or an indepth resaler link to the part. I'll sticky this little thread in the grand tradition of Egz from duratec and Gig from SPI. help me fill this page.

Does anyone know if Defi makes any dashboard gauge pods for the Mazda3?

EDIT: Or any quality brand dashboard gauge pods for that matter from any quality brand producer?

the only pod for the 3 is made by lotek.

it's kind of crappy. nothing like what the mz6 pod is like but with a bit of fiberglass work, this pod will look really really nice.

now there are some pillar pods floating around on ebay but most 3's come with side curtain airbags so you dont want that slamming in your face.

as far as defi, their pods are universal. im either gettign those or getting that lotek pod and fiberglassing it to the ac vents.

Thanks for the info.

I really would hope some quality manu comes out with a Mazda3 dash-specific pod. That Lotek looks low quality.

I guess for $45 I should give it a try...

yeah...with some work it can look good...some people are buying a radio bezel that goes in the same spot and then fiberglassing it to fit gauges. i'll see if i can find a pic.

here is that lotek pod fg to the stock piece....could be better but not too bad.

here is the readio pod. it started off as a square hole but he fg a piece over the square hole and made 3 holes for gauges.

and a pillar pod that will hit you in the face if your side air bags deploy.

Do you know of any one particular person or business that does the fiberglassing for the Lotek piece?

Or has it basically been a DIY?

Definitely not feeling that pillar guage, or extensive work required with that radio bezel piece.

They have all been DIY. They are very easy though, the hardest part was painting it but if you know someone or have the time to do it right it can come out great.

Here is mine.
