Air Vent LED How To... CHECK IT OUT

Well, some asked, and what you ask for you shall recieve... here is my how-to write up on how to install LED lights into your Air Vents to give you that unique neon look that DOESNT come from under the dash for once.

Shamelessly ripped. I did host the images locally on focushacks.com since imagestation seems to be getting more and more evil about letting external sites link to them. It was well written enough that I didn't really need to do any editing, just added some stuff (like the tools required, etc)

I just use my fingers to remove them...

Also, I thought 20 amps was a bit beefy. 5 would be more than sufficient for a dozen LED's and then some.

Also Also, might wanna make sure they buy "12v" LED's from radio shack or something, because most of the LED's they sell aren't made to handle that kind of voltage.

lol, well, I just used my heated seats fuse that was unused since I dont have heated seats... I was thinking to myself... "this fuse runs MOTORS... it should be fine for LED's"

oh, and I used my fingers to get the vent off too, but its easier with a screwdriver, so thats what I wrote and took a pic of. Feel free to change whatever you see fit

Nice write up. Did you get the aluminum foil idea from me? I used foil tape and tied my wires into the plug for the cig. ligher so its a constant hot.

I did get the idea from you, your lights still seem to be 8x brighter than mine though!
Next Ill be putting some in the pocket under my head unit, should be nice.

Sorry, I already have them in my pocket...., and the cupholders, door handles, and under armrest and the air vents. 9 Total!, plus 4 neon tubes.

ax0n, if you get regular LEDs you just have to tie in resistors (740 ohms?) to the hot lead, but the "12Volt" LEDs are easier, and have actual wire leads.

Even 5amps for LEDs is a lot. They draw what? 5 milliamps, or 0.5 milliamps...
