Default 2003 Ford Focus Won't start

I posted this on yahoo which was no help

I was driving on the hwy and the car just turned off. I tried to start it again but no luck.

The car cranks but just wont start.

-I reset the fuel pump switch, Didn't work
-Tried to start it with starting fluid but nothing happened so its probably not the fuel pump
-I replaced the spark plugs and wires , there seems to be spark
I've checked the fuses, they're fine. The battery is also fine, so are the cables.
-the cams seem to be turning normally

I'm going to buy ignition coil pack to see if that does it. I'm waiting for them to be back in stock from this place http://www.1aauto.com/1A/IgnitionCoi...tm_content=ECI

They cost 70 bucks at the parts store 35 bucks there

Someone on yahoo told me it could be the camshaft position sensor could that be it?

Also whats the difference between the cam sensor and the crankshaft position sensor.

Its not the camshaft sensor, that would not cause the engine to die / not start. A bad crankshaft position sensor though could cause the engine not to run.

FYI you can buy or rent a compression testor at most auto parts stores. They are not difficult to use and will probably come with instructions specific to the kit. If not, here is a quick how to: http://www.2carpros.com/dia/how_to_c...ompression.htm

I think I'll try replacing the crankshaft sensor. If I can find it, I'll probably have to push the car onto ramps cus I think its near the bottom

A bad crankshaft sensor will cause it to die and not restart. If you're getting spark, it's probably not the coil or crankshaft sensor.

What engine is it Zetec or Duratec?
