Snapped Transmission Cooler Line

So attempting to change the transmission fluid, I drained the pan added 3 quarts back in and proceeded to remove the cooler line to drain it. The head snapped off. Autozone does not have any fitting parts for me and its to late to go to napa or even a ford dealer. This ever happen to any one before? Pic of snapped head.

eeehhhh, rust happens man, it gets the better of us some times. if it were me i would change both lines while your down there, if its not your DD, hit up steve and he can get you a great price on ford parts, but it would take a few days for shipping

I had a little trouble when I got to that step in the DIY tranny flush too so I just did the filter change and 3 quarts and called it a day.

Well I just got done rigging this together so here is it is:

This is the return line that supposed to be connected to the head above.

My new parts from NAPA 3/8" brank line and a transmission cooler tubing.

I had to cut one end off the brake line so i could remove the other end piece off.

installed the new piece on the transmission. After that I slid the tubing over and tightened it down with ring clamps on both ends.

All put together.

I really need the car the next day so i had to think of something and waiting for a part was not an option. With no help from the employees at any part stores I came up with this. It should also make for easier drain of the cooler next time.

cool man, i love when people think out of the box to fix things, hope it holds till you can put a new tube on, but hey it may work perfect and you can just leave it like that, aint hurtin anything
