Will any of the races be on the east coast? I want to in possibly in 07ish/08/09 but if I have to trailer a car 4000 both ways I don't think it'll work.

I'm sure there will be. I know of two or three cars being made or changing too. But, it really is hard to tell what regions will do well and what regions will not.

Right now, I would say the two biggest regions are going to be in the Mid-West and SoCal, but that could change.

Are you going to do the 25 hour race???

I'm planning on doing it as well. It would be great to have two SF cars there.

I'm in for the 2007 season. -- I am listed with the NASA NE region because I was really good friends with the Regional Director, I'll probaby switch my region to Mid Atlantic [Summit Point & VIR] or OH/IN [BeaveRun, Mid-Ohio, and Gingerman]. I'll either be number 12 or 52.

New Jersey, actually.

Interested in seeing how SF develops, and would really like to see some thought going into accomodating rally-prepped machines.

Thumbs up Re: Who's going to race SF

One step at a time. I'll be working on more HPDEs and getting my competition license this year. I'm doing some research on the various modifications needed to build a SF car. The Beautiful Blue Car will not be gutted for racing so I'll be looking to see what options come up for purchasing a race car.

I was going to pick up a focus again as an auto-x project but the rules of the game seem to give duratec 2.3s and svt's an advantage...very unlike specmiata (the other possibility for my project) where restrictor plates are used to keep the newer 1.8s slower.

it seems in sf that zetec cars can use several race parts, but just not everything they'd need to take advantage of all the power they'd need to keep up...you get a 2.3 with a 4.06, an intake, and a reflash and there's not a chance in hell of a zetec keeping up based on the rules. i think i'll end up going with SM...

I think you'll find it more balanced than you think.

A spec zetec should have a bit more mid to high hp, where the d23 will have more low to mid tq but the overall power level will be pretty close. The d23 reflash isn't going to be an all out performance tune like it will be in the zetec.

The rest of the car can be the same 4.06 gears etc.

Well the 2.3L duratecs will have the least amount of HP, but will have the most lower end Torque. Overall they should be all pretty equal. I think you could see one motor work better at one track then another. But overall should run pretty close.

I believe because of the 4 different motors you could even see each motor work better in different section of the track. This could lead to great racing.
