Default Spec Car Build Part 3

Long weekend in the garage with a lot of good progress. Front and rear suspension are 90% done. Still waiting on the steel brake lines from Russell, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, Heat resistant Neoprene Brake Ducting and Hawk Blue Brake Pads. I just recieved my rear sway bar today, so that will go in this weekend for sure and hopefully the brake stuff should show up too.

So without any further delay...

Shoot out? I guess I've been in the garage too much lately. BTW: Any word yet on those plates? I went ahead and recon'd my original sub-frame and reinstalled it.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Duh! ^^^ Now I know what you're talking about. No, the car is going to the cage fabricator on the first of April.

Good Luck!

Why is the A/C system and blower box still in that car? You can drop another 75lbs.

Most of the A/C is off the car. The only thing left is the blower box and the evaporator . IT rules don't allow you to remove the heater core/box from the interior of the car. Since I'm dual classing the car, I still have to keep mine in to be legal.

I present to you...

The 4 X 4 Spec Focus!!!

This is what the car looks like with the Multimatic Suspension, Eibach rear bar and no interior weight. I haven't hustled her around the lot yet, but I should have that accomplished by next weekend.

I thought we discussed this at the SEMA show?

Yes, they're the stock 16's, which also seem to be illegal in SCCA too for some reason???

My car looked like the 4x4 when it was gutted with the Koni + Ebach. The nice thing though is the lighter car make the springs effectively stiffer. The car was actually a handful on the highway.

As for me, I don't have a comp lic nor the necessary SFI driving suit.

As for the event, I posted elsewhere that I should be instructing at Mid Ohio that weekend. We'll see, the new regional director mentioned something about a $100.00 fee or something? I should be there though.

As for the car, that's a different situation. I could duct tape a fire exting into the car, but I don't have the battery kill or the Spec Focus decals or the 17" SVT wheels and RA-1's etc, etc, etc, you get the point. The car will be there but not Spec Focus legal.

ALSO, not to go completely off topic here, but have you seen how long PAULOVITCH is if the letters are 4" tall? It will like wrap around the rear hatch I think!

Longer names can use a smaller font. Also cars that plan to be used in enduros can also use smaller fonts for the name. It's hard to put 3 or 4 names on the window side with 4" letters. LOL
The 4" name rule is more of common guidline. I see other groups all the time have different name sizes. Even the hardcore SCCA let's it slide some in World Challenge.

I would try to make it 2 inches or bigger.

SCCA Pro actually requires names to be 3" tall, windshield and both side windows, unless an exception is granted.

I used 2" all caps on mine (club racing), which looks dinky when I'm alone but works great if I have three codrivers.

Not too crazy, mainly just to the rules with a couple of extra crash bars in the door and others. I'll have pics as it is completed. Here's the seat/belts mounted along with the new steering wheel and disconnect...

(Yes, I'm currently too cheap to purchase a sliding seat bracket... gotta pay for the cage first )

Only the lap and sub belts are mounted right now. The shoulder belts will wrap around the bar... After it's done.
