I just finished gutting my car. I just want to make sure i can remove all the wiring for the components that will remain off the vehicle (air bags, radio, HVAC, interior lighting etc). i don't want to make the mistake of removing all that wiring only to find out i can't. I didn't see anything in the spec focus rules. maybe this falls under the NASA CCR?
any help would be appreciated. i'd like to get the car off to the cage builder next week.thanks chris

Yes you can remove the wiring to the air bags, HVAC, radio, inerior light and etc.... as a matter of fact you can even remove the units themself. HVAC weighs a lot. Ted

I just did that this weekend. I was amazed by the weight savings. I was also worried that if I took certain circuits out, that the car would not start or run correctly. Are there any effects when pulling the air bag wiring?

I started out wanting to really race in the focus spec class, but there were just too many upgrades on the car and it would have set me back quite a bit in the bank account area. So for right now, M90, getrag, roll cage and so on. Its going to be fun.

I have no clue what to expect but, it should be quite a difference in a pos direction. Im going to do some interior work so it looks cleaner.

I will be installing an elctric heater that can be taken in and out quickly. They are used often in the older jeep. That is a good point to bring up though.
