Exclamation SF at Nationals

The list of drivers is complete for the 2006 NASA National Championship Race. It looks like we’ll have 5 Spec Foci there at the Nationals which is really considering other well know NASA Series like Spec Neon, SE-R Cup, Spec Mini, and GTI Cup all have 5 or Less. This is a good start for the Spec Series Nationally.

#32 Ted Severns ZX3 2.0L Zetec Severns Racing/F2Focus.com
#69 Andy SlankardZX3 2.0L SVT Ford Racing
#68 Brett Mars ZX4 2.3L Duratec Allegheny Ford/ LCRacing/Spec Focus
#67 Scott Lear ZX5 2.3L Duratec Ford Racing/Grassroots Motorsports

All Focaljet members are welcome to hang out with us. All the SF cars will be pitted together under the same Ford Racing/Leo Capaldi area.

Aw geez! Shawn at the nationals? There goes the neighborhood!

When you see Andy, remind him not to drive home with the keys to the racecar still in his pocket.

Well, if you knew who was in who's car... You would see that Andy is switching from the #67 2.3L Focus to the #69 2.0L SVT Focus

Shawn, How many times do I have to tell you to pay attention to detail

When is nationals again? Same week as the SCCA runoffs used to be? Sep12-whenever?

I'll swing over for that, for sure.

It would be nice to have some sort of G2G at the Mid Ohio Nationals on that weekend. I will be willing to help/support with because it would be nice to show the Ford Racing people that committed to the Focus series that they are getting some FJ member support?

Leo, how would Saturday afternoon work? I would suggest Sunday, since that's when the championship races are, but I will be at work until after the SF race is over (I think). You guys keep picking weekends that I have to work...

I'll post a couple of other places and see if some folks want to show up from like 3 til whenever on Saturday. Qualifying race for SF is a little before 5, right? You guys are lumped into the PT class? Was having a little bit of trouble reading the schedule, since it doesn't come out and say SF anywhere.

That would work. We are in Race Group F.

I know Honda has a deal with Mid Ohio that all races need to have a Honda [S2000] pace car, too bad my car cannot do that. With the standing start though, you could could take off, my Focus with the stobe lights and Pace Car Magnets could be one of the safety cars that follows behind in case of a turn 1 conflagoration.

Another change to the list is that my car will not be there. Too much to do to make it happen, so there will only be four Spec Foci their. #72i sbeing withdrawn, I have to put a new cage and remove the wide body kit from the car and then paint it. So no time for all of these items because we are busy with the Volvo project. And after the changes it will be available for sale as a spec Focus.

Okay. Shawn will still run the #32 Focus in TTE... but is changing to a #00 Spec Miata and running it in PTD in Race Group F (Same Group as Spec Focus). Great another Spec Miata that's going to be in our way!!!! I thought we were going to be Miata free since they are in a Different Run Group. They always seem to be in the way. Well at least we have a couple of long straights to use our HP advantage.

If I had my druthers...... id still be in a SF car. But the Focus gods are clearly against me so now im racing whatever I can get. PTD for me in a Miata.

You can Relax now Ted, I wont be embarrasing you with a sic pass in a SF car. now ill be doing it in a SM car.

Baleed dat!!

You go right ahead and use the HP advantage you have, ill just use.... well when I figure out if/where the Miata is fast, ill be doing it!

Ted,
Are you sure that a TT group is running with a race group?

Im certain its not.
Otherwise im going to have a difficult time driving 2 cars at the same time. heh, trailer hitch should solve that eh?

SF runs in the F group, and TT is in "I" the last time the list was updated. Since its now closed, they are finalizing the run groups but no, TT has its own run groups away from the race groups.

My mistake. Shawn is running in PTD in the Spec Miata which is in the same race group.

I get my PTs and TTs mixed up
